Bored, I guess I'll "chance" you if you chance me...

The reason I wasn’t able to enroll into the TAG program is because I was completing an IGETC requirement during the Fall semester. I’m keeping my fingers crossed but I know I need to be realistic, thanks for the rating; much appreciated.

uhhhhhhhhhhhhh

theDK, i still don’t understand why you didn’t sign a TAG…IGETC only needs to be completed by the spring prior to transfer, you could have still signed a TAG (am i mistaken?)

652316541, I was told by the counselors at my CC that I could not sign up for TAG unless my MATH 10 (Statistics) course had been completed prior the fall semester. That course was in progress for me at the time therefore I didn’t have the opportunity. Was I misinformed by my campus counselors?

[UC Irvine Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) Fall 2009](http://www.admissions.uci.edu/admissions_info/transfer_admission/tag.html)

In that case, they were correct. If you were taking your first uc transferable math class in the f08 semester, you would have been denied a TAG.

If you had taken a UCtrans math class or had an AP Calc exam of 3 or higher, I’m pretty sure you could have gotten a TAG.

probably the former though…i’m guessing that the Math 10 class was your first math class at cc

652316541, it was in fact my first transferable math course. Trust me, I know how counselors are prone to mistakes, I must have walked in and out of their offices at least 3 times a week revising forms, courses, credits, and GPAs with them seemingly getting different numbers from the various counselors every time. You had me worried, I wish I could have been a TAG student. What about you? What are your plans?

academically, well I plan on transferring to UC U with a major of psychology. But I’m thinking about changing my major to Biology/Chemistry for 2 reasons.

  1. I just took both and with my new found motivation and study skills I got A’s in both series and I found them really interesting
  2. I’m thinking about going into a health related field (not medicine, I can’t stand death, urine, stool, hospitals, or sick people that i don’t know)…so if anyone knows of a good health related field that isn’t in medicine, where you get money, respect, and you get to help ppl… let me know

but yeah…if that’s not what you ment by "What about you? What are your plans?…sorry to have bored you ;)

yeah, and counselors suck don’t they…there is like 1 good one at each school and it takes a semester to get an appointment with them.
I had to go to like 7 different counselors until I found one that knew what the hell he was talking about.

Political Science

EC’s: 1st place, California Community College State Debate Championships, 2008

  • Tons more Debate
  • PTK
    +Non-profit work, 100+ hours

Chance me?

Your GPA might not dazzle, but if you get in, your EC’s will be the thing that put you over the top.

UCLA Av admit GPA was 3.65 for PolSci. But if your essay is as good as you say, i think you have a 7/10 chance at B and an 8/10 chance at LA.

chance me back

OOOH. Thank you!!
But I was a bit scared because I took all easy(?) classes, according to my sister.

^ 9/10 UCB, 9/10 UCLA

BTW, I have all prereqs done for both schools ! :-D

edit:
Chance for either of us to get into both is limited probably to 2/10 each.

Also, I think for me, UCB us more likely than UCLA, as UCLA is VERY impacted, and will consider GPA over essays, while UCB will take wildcards based on connections and essays…

Wow, you guys have awesome stats! [: Good luck to all of you!

@ pinker …hahaha. You’re awesome! P.S.-I’m sorry, I thought you were a girl for the longest time…xDDDDD. >__<;;;

haha well he does have “pink” in his name, it brings out his feminine side

I guess no one listens to Pink Floyd?

btw Pinker, the rising GPA trend and 2 C’s are so similar to my story. The main difference I guess is .03 higher rofl. The strong attributes of my application are: Came back after quitting CC, work + school, finished UCLA + IGETC + UCLA/Cal Pre-reqs as of Fall 08, and the rising trend in GPA.

Major: Biology…3.95
Applied to UCLA, CAL, UCSD, UCI
All four still pending :(…lots of extracurriculars/cultural experiences
Good essays (or so I think)
What are my chances of getting in???

I have heard of the band, but that wasn’t the reason why. LOL.

@ saba, relax. [: UCSD (and I’m sure UCI) don’t want another “glitch” if you know what I mean. I would rather wait then get some glitch e-mail…that would be sooo terrifying. >__<;;

UCLA (Global Studies,) CAL (Peace and Conflict Studies)

GPA: 3.71
IGETC: done
prereqs: done except for one at UCLA
TAP Certified for UCLA
Honors Program completion @ OCC
Essays: 8/10, edited by a lit prof.
EC: Tons of work, poll site manager, studied in Paris, etc., etc.
Upward Trend as far as GPA

Thank you!

PACS is such an interesting field. I’m definitely considering it as a minor or possible double major if I get into Cal.

I agree! Now let us just hope we have that option!

Fa sho. Best of luck to your jdecker, I hope the only trouble you have with your admissions is deciding between UCLA and Cal.
