Hey guys. I am a undergrad student(University of New Orleans) and I just got accepted to Manhattan Borough Community College. I am beyond excited to be going to school in Manhattan this fall, however I do have ambitions.

The reason why I am attending BMCC is because my G.P.A. is a 2.0 or rather a little under(1.95). At the age of 22 I have been in and out of the hospital the past five years with various heart problems. Sometimes I would be in the hospital for weeks at a time and my grades suffered(Was in hospital for six months straight during junior year). Added stress was the cause of my heart issues and since exam time causes the most stress most of my hospital stints came around mid terms and finals. I dropped too many classes and was not allowed to drop anymore(Would have lost financial aid if I did) so instead I recieved F in each class that I could not attend. Great luck, huh?

After a few operations I am alot healthier and ready to actually get my college career underway, so Im starting over in the big apple. At one point my GPA was a 1.05 so the fact that I have it around a 2.0 now is amzing considering how many classes I attempted.

Now...my plan in to attend BMCC and receive an associate degree in Video Arts and Technology(AAS) while at the same time raising my GPA . I am a Mass Communication major with alot of ideas. I know that if I dont blow it I will be guaranteed entry to one of the other CUNY senior colleges. The ones that fit my major are Hunter College and Brooklyn. Now I am ecstatic about this oppurtunity as my goal is to reciece a Masters in Communications:

Hunter College - MA Intergrated Media Arts
Brooklyn College - MFA Performance and Interactive Media Arts(Really excited about this)

Im excited about both grad programs but...It has always been my dream to attend NYU-Steinhardt and recieve a masters degree and maybe even a PHD in Media, Culture and Communication.

I know NYU is competitive, but for grad school that is where I want to be. What should I do and what are my chances? Should I go to Hunter or Brooklyn for grad school or should I attend Steinhardt? Even if I average straight As for the next three years, I doubt my g.p.a. will be a 3.878. The best I can do is prob get a 3.0 overall gpa, despite all my health set backs. Do I have a realistic chance of getting in or should I just not worry about it?

This is very important to me, so if anyone has good advice or intel please let me know. Thanks for reading too, I know it was long.
