Anyone?

App looks great, you should have a good chance in getting in but don’t be surprised if you’re waitlisted. There is such thing as over-qualification.

I’d say you’ll probably get into the honors program as well.

Replies in chance-me threads are like throwing darts at a dartboard.

Schools do not admit based on strong grades alone. The academic profile is usually used to determine if you can handle the workload. Then the adcoms move onto the more important parts of your application to see if you are a match for the school and if you’ll be an asset to the incoming class.

Why do you want to attend BC?

Standardized teats scores will help, but GPA probably puts you at a low to mid reach. Anyone saying scores don’t matter that much is misinformed. Since BC is becoming a more competitive school nearing 30K applicants its only natural that scores are going to take to reins more. There also seems to be an apparent contradiction since BC has been considering going test optional in recent years which wouldn’t seem to be the move with MORE applicants. I know from experience that GPA matters the most regardless of EC’s and standardized test scores, as SATs and ECs were my strong suit as a senior but I was waitlisted and rejected. Only as a transfer when my GPA was well above the average accepted student was I accepted, note I was also waitlisted this year (it was an extremely low acceptance year for transfers). Good luck with the process.

Agree that those are probably honors-level scores but I did see some people with similar scores rejected and certainly waitlisted. I think BC truly values fit, particularly in terms of service. Your ECs, while great, may be a bit “cookie cutter” and make it difficult for you to stand out. Definitely try to make your obvious passion/aptitude for math stand out. Does the “youth program” tie into your interest in math at all? If not, maybe do some free math tutoring this summer/school year (I know I risk sounding like I’m encouraging you to volunteer for the sake of a college app, but you will also find it rewarding).

Also worth considering – and I don’t know the answer to this – does being from Newton area help/hurt in the admissions process? Is there more competition from within your area? Or does BC tend to accept hometown students at a higher rate? I was waitlisted and then rejected from a slightly lesser school than BC which is down the road from me I think because there was so much more competition from my area (I also showed zero recorded interest).

Good luck and great job so far!
