**~Boston College Class of 2020 Early Action Thread~**

@JasonSheridan12 I asked yesterday and they said there is no official timetable set; they only maintained that a decision will come out by the end of next week.

Seeing people on Facebook posting about getting into Columbia or Duke or Stanford makes me feel so incompetent:/

@sungjong The fact that you are even on this thread means you are competent! All of these schools are fantastic, we’ll all be fine.

Dear @sungjong : First lesson of moving from high school to college (and onto your adult life) - Never measure yourself in the context of what others have achieved. Measure yourself against your own standards and the metrics that YOU value in life. You will be happier and more successful over the long term. Remember that success is not determined by the college you attend, but how you leverage the college you attend. Think about it.

Does anyone here have any clue if having a sibling that currently goes to BC will give me an advantage in getting in or if they do not even care that i have a sibling that goes there?

@emersonballer21 http://www.collegeconfidential.com/dean/is-there-a-sibling-hook/

my birthday is the 17th so i just hope i either get good news or no news that day lol

@scottj Yeah, I understand what you’re saying  I guess it’s just how I was constantly being told that I absolutely have to go to a good college ever since I was three that’s really stressing me out right now

Hi everyone,
BC alum and current parent here and I have two more that will apply to be with their sister when the time comes…I personally asked an admissions counselor this question at orientation and was emphatically told that NO siblings do not help, it is just parents that count as legacy. However I do think that it certainly cannot hurt to have a sibling there, but the official answer is no.
Good luck! BC is such a great school and my freshman daughter loves it…it’s tough though so be ready to work hard! I’m sure you all are or you wouldn’t be applying!

I would keep my eyes on my email inbox Tuesday night, sources say decisions are being finalized and could be out earlier than expected.

So Tuesday after school is when we should expect them? (Most likely)

no finaL ON WEDNESDAY WOOO I’ll be spending Tuesday constantly refreshing my inbox

Hi guys, I am a freshman at BC and just wanted to let you know that I got my acceptance letter December 22nd last year! Good luck and if you have any questions, feel free to ask

Don’t care what time I get my email as long as I’m not at school or babysitting!!

@aveagle04 BC said acceptances this year will be released between the 14th and 18th

This will probably feel like that time when I was waiting for September ACT scores and refreshed the page every two seconds for a week straight

@sungjong I know how you feel I was one of the last people to get my sep ACT scores ugh

@collegebound1516 I forgot about how terrible that wait was! And this will be so much worse if it comes late

does BC mail decisions or email them
