**~Boston College Class of 2020 Early Action Thread~**

@nerual19 email

@omarnesh same here… really really bummed

Waiting on Georgetown :frowning: I haven’t heard from any of my colleges yet, and some of my classmates already know where they’re going

@TalkTheTalk what were ur stats if you don’t mind me asking haha

Same @TalkTheTalk and @omarnesh ND didn’t like me, so hopefully BC will

but last year was regular mail? correct? this year they will contact by email.

@omarnesh 3.8UW/4.5 W 2130 SAT

I only know two people who got into ND, 4 rejected and I have a deferral…hopefully BC comes out soon so I don’t pull my hair out

that looks impressive. Good Luck! We can’t sleep in this house. My son’s friend just got his email from Haverford
at 7pm. that is very selective also. and much smaller. Please everyone post when you get some news! thanks

@Windhunde @TalkTheTalk damn, I’m sorry to hear that. i had a 32 and a 94 unweighted ib diploma. maybe applying to mendoza business school hurt me because its that much more competitive

@omarnesh I also applied mendoza… But honestly, just like my mom told me right now, there’s so many more places to hear from and it’s not the end of the world (it really isnt). Let’s just hope for the best.

same all of you!

If you guys wrote great essays and made yourself interesting/set yourself apart then you should be fine; you will not be rejected because of your 32+ ACT score or 3.8+ GPA.

I’m also kind of worried because I have something on my academic record for showing my parents doctored grades :confused: it was a really stupid move and even though my real grades weren’t affected, it still went on my transcript. I don’t know how much that’s going to affect my decision

I had a 1400/1600 and a 4.0 UW and 4.81 W on top of two state qualifications for Economics, which was the major I applied for. I don’t even know anymore guys.

@Windhunde it was likely the holistic part of the application or “insitutional needs” that kept you out

@vlindo but you’d think the holistic part would mean that could overlook my low SAT and see how I got over a 100% in my intended major and all that along with a bunch of other ECs. And what are institutional needs?

@Windhunde very true, admission to those type of schools are crapshoots. Institutional needs refers to what the school wants the class to look like (more geographical diversity, racial diversity, economic diversity, ideological diversity, more art majors, etc). Insitutional needs are impossible to control and leads to the unpredictable process that is college admissions.

I’m from the Alabama Gulf Coast, how do you think this could affect my admission? My application seems pretty competitive to others I’ve seen on here but would it help me or hurt me by being from such a lacking state?
