In previous years, Gabelli scholarship finalists were not invited to campus in Mid-March, and final decisions were not made until the end of March. Maybe the timetable for Gabelli has been moved up. Some posters use the word “scholarships” interchangeably with need based financial aid awards.
@dtrain1027 , sorry for the confusion, I’m referring to need based financial aid awards.

When do deferred kids hear back?
emails with release dates will be sent this week, final decisions will be sometime during the week of March 17
Deferreds should hear back the same time as the regular decision announcements. The entire group is looked at freshly and the same deferreds typically have the same percentage as regular decision candidates.
So your chances are the same as if you had applied RD.
IMO you likely get a tad more weight than a flip of the coin all other things being equil because you were a little more sure of BC as a Choice having applied EA. Maybe…
Good Luck to Everyone as BC is a great school. Sometimes getting in isn’t enough either. Wish all the best.
Enjoy
@meghanbrod My S19 also didn’t get in to ND as legacy. Being male doesn’t help, we are strong legacies and stats just a notch above yours. He applied to BC RD, so we are waiting to hear (although, not sure I have much hope ) . I will keep my fingers crossed for you! Have you applied elsewhere?
Freshman orientation sign-up opened up on the Agora Portal.
will decisions be available through email or physical mail? I’ve heard mixed reports
Email. Full Package post acceptances via mail.
They usually make a nice video. You can google last year’s, it was a Harry Potter theme.
Also google BC “happy” and BC “Shake it off” if you want to watch a couple of videos to get pumped up for admission day.
Thanks @privatebanker I enjoyed those. Actually made me a little teary for the excitement! Fingers crossed for all! No too much longer!
Taylor Swift like the BC version so much, she retweeted it to her one trillion followers with some commentary.
Good luck.
Is there really going to be an email sent this week to tell us when decisions will be released next week?
I think we followed BC admissions twitter feed for info.
Looks like day 3 of orientation includes signing up for 1st semester classes. Does anyone know how fast freshman classes fill up? I assume that the earlier you go to orientation, the more open the class schedules will be.
@T20hopeful2023 I remember hearing when my daughter went to orientation 4 years ago that they release the classes in stages so that doesn’t happen…but I’m not sure that’s still the case. I think the earlier the better, personally. BC is great because it really has almost two orientations…the one early summer and then when you go in the fall to start, you have another few days of events. Not many schools do that.
Do we know how long the orientation signup will stay open? I’m assuming that it will be through the end of the April as RD applicants make their choices. Also, do you need to commit and pay the deposit before signing up for orientation? That makes sense but figured it would be good to ask.
During the tour at BC they said we would be awarded either 3 or 4 years of on-campus housing.Looking at my letter (and FinAid letter), I can’t find any reference to how many years of housing I am eligible for. Did anyone else receive these details?
@T20hopeful2023 It should be in the middle of the acceptance letter. The whole word is spelled out, three or four, so it’s easy to miss if you’re scanning quickly.
@VACrew The registration for each of the 7 sessions closes the week before they happen. Register by June 2nd for the June 9th session … The last regular orientation is July 21st (July 14th deadline). There is a last session just before school starts and you move into your dorm room but this is only for students that are more distant:
Session 7: All Freshmen except those students from the following states: AL, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, MS, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VT, VA, WV, WI, or Washington D.C.
