I know a lot of people got emails today but were deferred and some didn’t…does this mean those who didn’t get an email got in?

Still trying to make sense of my deferral…

I applied EA, but I received no email today. If what you say is true, then I will be elated.

…deferred :(((((((((((

Did you get an email already?

Boston College does deny inadmissible people who applied early action. If a person’s scores or grades were below BC’s typical margin of acceptance and the admissions counselors do not feel the application would have a chance of being admitted regular decision, then BC denies that student. So, not getting an email could mean one of two things. Either you were admitted (in that case, congratulations!) or you were denied.

So I would look and see if your scores and GPA match up with the ranges that BC published on its website in order to get a better idea of where your application stands. Keep in mind, there is no true way to know if you have been accepted until you receive your letter.

Good luck to you and anyone else who applied EA. I also applied EA so I guess we’ll all know within the next week.

are results out ??

Does anyone know if they are updating the tabs like previous years?

Consensus is that the tabs thing was a mistake, one that the admissions office has been sure to correct (not saying they corrected all their mistakes - the deferral emails thing was a huge one). So no, they aren’t updating tabs.

^^Actually, no. The tabs thing has been that way in the RD round – dunno about EA – for at least four years. It had not been corrected as of last spring, but that doesn’t mean it will not be fixed for this year.

didn’t receive an email, but my stats are right in the middle 50% for admission, therefore I’d assume that I’m not noncompetitive for admission…does this mean I’m in?? :D

Not necessarily. I’m in the same situation, but I’m not positive that all deferrals have been sent out. Though I’d like to think that they were, I don’t think anyone can really tell if they have been. But good luck!! Letters are being mailed out tomorrow.

About 30 miles. Not too far

Congrats Kyle. Did your tab change on agora at all?

I wish they would just change the tabs already…
