Are all students guaranteed four years of campus housing?
All students are guaranteed three years of on campus housing, with half of each incoming class guaranteed four years of campus housing. Students who are awarded four years of campus housing are: students with physical disabilities, NCAA full scholarship athletes, students in the Connell School of Nursing, and the top 15% of the incoming class.
If a student is awarded three years of campus housing, there are a variety of off campus housing options available for students. Students at Boston College who have been awarded three years of campus housing live off campus during their junior year. Over 95% of the senior class lives on campus.
Thank you, GBRAIDER! I know you’re right… that was more of a Dad’s venting rant when I saw my Daughter’s disappointment and reaction to being deferred at what SHE thought was a “Safety School.” As you so thoughtlfully pointed-out… there really is no such thing as a slam dunk when applying to a very good school like BC as your"Safety School." It’s like the “over-qualified” fear employers have thinking a new hire will leave once they can land a post more befitting of their qualifications and experience. Thanks for the well-wishes, AND, BEST OF LUCK to all students who will begin their new and exciting journey next Fall… at whatever College that may be lucky enough to have you become a part of their Class of 2022 student body!!
Hey all, I’m very excited to say that I was accepted to BC EA! My acceptance letter mentioned something about being selected to compete for the presidential scholarship, can any of you guys explain what exactly that is? I’m super excited!
@Living61 good point! To be honest, I’m not sure it is too common a policy. My daughter applied EA to a few schools and then later changed one to ED. Thankfully, we were reviewing BC’s admissions policies again and realized we needed to change her application to RA but I bet many students miss that restriction.
@BCGPSP - No one has received the letters in the mail yet as they will be going out later this month. It’s almost impossible for you to have received one already. @lindsgal - no actual cut-offs, but they said that usually Gabelli Scholars are chosen among the top 1-2% national pool of applicants.
