^For class of 2021, the middle 50 percentile range for enrolled students is 31-33 with a mean of 32, and for admitted students, the range is 32-34 with a mean of 33. The early action round also had a mean of 33. I am not convinced that EA is significantly more difficult because the acceptance rates are about the same, actually a little higher for EA considering the third deferred who are then added to the RD pool.
@senioritisfr I don’t think you will be rejected EA…you will either get in or deferred so you didn’t make a mistake!! Good luck.
Does BC just accept and defer or do they also reject?
They can also reject you from EA unfortunately
My guidance counselor just informed me that she got an email saying admission decisions will be sent to students tonight. Do we think that’s possible?
for sure the 14th at 5 pm!!
How do you know it’s 5?
Are you serious or… @barelygrace
@barelygrace It doesn’t seem likely, because they’ve said before that decisions will be released on the 14th and the admissions twitter said last night that they would be released on Thursday.
@barelygrace @lrose00 they send decisions to counselors tonight and students tomorrow.
How are applicants notified? Are they emailed?
@Banker1 you’ll get an email on Thursday saying that there’s been an update to your portal. Then you can log on and view your decision. Physical copies will be mailed and you’ll probably get it by Christmas.
Here’s what the email from BC says about EA notifications. Email only, not portal update.
Thank you for applying to Boston College through our Early Action program. Your application is presently under review, and you may be assured of our thoughtful consideration of your credentials within the context of this year’s talented pool of candidates.
Early Action decisions will be emailed on December 14th, so please check your email. Boston College does not post admission decisions online, nor do we communicate decisions by phone. For additional news and updates, follow BC Admission on Twitter. And as always, please contact our office at 1-800-360-2522 with any questions.
Best wishes to you and your family for a happy Thanksgiving!

Do counselors give a heads up on whether or not you’ve been accepted?
I have never heard of counselors getting a heads up first. Seems odd
My mistake, most colleges update the portal and then you get a notification email.
It does seem odd that counselors are informed a day before we are
My daughter’s friend was rejected EA, unfortunately.
I just checked with my counselor, and she said no decision would be leaked.
Also, when I log onto my portal there are email services and when I click there’s a message about forwarding emails to BC account. Anyone have this? Is this new or has it always been there?
I have the email stuff as well and I have no idea if it has been there before…probably @aleg
Seriously? I’ve never hear this before?
