They email the decision @andrewsuni2021. The mailed letter will be about a week later. They will post on twitter when they will start releasing decisions.
@paveyourpath I believe that’s only for EA. It says on my portal “Please note that Boston College does NOT post admission decisions on line.”
Does anyone know how competitive MCAS is for political science applicants? I know that it’s definitely lower than CSOM but can someone give me a comparison of BC’s political science vs some other school?
@andrewsuni2021 Emailing them is still not posting them online. It’s a direct form of contact.
@brian2746 my daughter is a sophomore in CSOM and in her stats class last year they said they were considering beginning to post a separate admissions rate for CSOM (which they never did) because it was significantly lower than the other schools (I think possibly under 20%). With that said, I think school of Ed is slightly higher (but a smaller school). I think last year was about 32% admit rate for overall school, so with that data, I think MCAS is probably a little higher than their overall rate…I’m guessing like 35-38% but I really have no idea! That’s a complete guess. But I do think it’s definitely easier to get in to MCAS than CSOM.
@andrewsuni2021 The portal did say the same thing for EA. Did you get the email that said the decisions would be out the week of March 12th? I don’t recall but it may say in that email how decisions will be sent. They sent an email with an attachment.
“Admission decisions will be emailed during the week of March 12, so please check your email during that time” -quote from the last email sent out about RD decisions
@paveyourpath that’s awkward, just checked my spam folder and found that email
I got an email about financial aid and I can access a “different portal” using my Eagle ID. Has anyone else received this email?
I got the email too, didn’t apply for FA.
I got the email too. Maybe it’s a good sign! It probably doesn’t mean anything in regards to admissions decisions sadly though.
I did too, but I’m pretty sure admissions and FA are separate processes.
Sounds like it went to everyone whether they applied for aid or not.
Didn’t get any email other then March 12th but it might be because I got deferred from early
I got deferred early as well, but I did get it.
Did you guys turn in all ur w-2 tax returns and everything then because I mailed them awhile ago?
@andrewsuni2021 I’m glad you found that in your spam folder now so you are sure to check your spam on the day decisions come out as that is how you will receive your decision. Check your spam folder every few days because if any schools are missing anything from your application and email you, you could miss an email.
Just a couple of weeks now. Good luck to everyone!
We did turn it all in but they are asking for one more thing. So maybe that’s why, although it could also be that they are sending this email out in batches, because we got ours several hours after others here got it.
You can do a search to locate the BC FA Portal. This site will list any outstanding documents that need to be sent. According to the site, BC will send out email monthly if anything is missing.
My son’s FA portal keeps saying that they need my business tax returns & K1 schedules (I am self employed as part time independent contractor), but I don’t file separate business taxes. I spoke to FA office in Dec & they said not to worry about it…yet it is bugging me that it still says those docs are missing and/or required.
