we have already sent the letter thanks so much for the advice
Just received acceptance packet in the mail! I’m in MA, but still, that didn’t take very long at all
@Luke123456 Good luck and that’s the right idea. You have as good a chance as anyone.
But just to be fair to you. Earlier you expressed that the kids at BC weren’t your cup of tea. You sure this where you want to go, only because you want to make sure you sound upbeat and interested in your LOC. Don’t let that come out at all
Does it help if you are legacy in wait list. Both parents attended.
@Luke123456 I don’t think it helps in the way you are thinking but it can help a lot. If you would like me to give you my thoughts and a recent example DM me.
If not. Good luck. I’m sure you would be a great ?
This is late but…

@aiasid7841 Congrats! Are you planning on attending BC? Im doing a back of the envelop yield sampling survey…
Does anyone know if you pay less if you get a forced triple dorm room versus a regular double?
Yes you do but they aren’t the nightmare you imagine. And it guarantees upper campus versus newton. But that isn’t a benefit for everyone. Some students love being on Newton and the friendhips you make there.
Asking again if anyone is able to see their financial aid award? The Agora portal doesn’t seem to be working for me or any of my friends who were admitted…
Forced triples in upper are indeed a nightmare. I know because I was in one a long time ago. Yes, upper is super convenient, but the rooms are made to be doubles, there is simply not enough closet space and dresser space for three students and all their stuff…even if you like the people you live with. It’s a risk. Good luck with it.
They can be, but BC is extremely aggressive in trying to de-triple the rooms as fast as possible during the school year. Even so, some triples opt to remain a triple even when given the opportunity to move into a double. Obviously, those kids don’t mind the inconvenience.
What percentage of freshmen are paced in forced triples? Also, why hasn’t BC sorted out this problem in the last 25 years of growth/building projects?
I am on a very frustrating run of being waitlisted. Waitlisted at BC, Emory, and Wash U just in the last week. Thankfully accepted at Northeastern and William & Mary. Not sure whether to put in the effort on the waitlisted schools. The numbers just seem insurmountable for the % that come off of waitlists. Thinking that Northeastern may be the final answer. Any thoughts from those experienced with waitlists?
@franklin124 I was right there with you last year. Waitlisted at BU, BC and Emory. If I were you, I’d pick your top choice of waitlist options and just go all in on that one. I remember Emory closed there’s really early and so did BU. BC was the only one I went above and beyond on because that was my top pick by far. It’s worth the effort if you really want that school. But definitely get ok with the fact Northeastern is your go to school since that’s the one you really want out of those accepted.
@BCBoundMaybe what did you exactly do to get off the waitlist?
Waitlist.
