Boston College Regular Decision 2019

This is almost a carbon copy of what happened when waiting for the NEU EA decision in December. Since I’m in California, and they could possibly be doing it by region, I waited and waited and read CC and everyone was getting denied and deferred with highly qualified stats. I thought rejection for sure… finally the email came… I got in. Thinking it may not be the same result this time, but I’m hoping for the best. This wait is really killing me.

Boston College’s acceptance rate is approximately 34% (as per Google), so ideally (or rather not ideally for us), that means there will be 14,520 rejection emails sent since they said they were sending out 22,000 as compared to 7,480 acceptance emails. From this alone, we should expect more rejections. Also it’s possible that a lot of people who are rejected have accounts on here while those who got accepted do not. On the other hand, if you got accepted, the first thing you might do is jump for joy or celebrate or something rather than post on a forum. So, don’t get discouraged if you haven’t got your letter and you’re seeing all these rejections.

tl;dr: There should be more rejections than acceptances. It’s still early though, so don’t give up hope if you’re still waiting. Best of luck to all!
