Boston College, Syracuse Univ., or Northeastern U?

Hi! I’m an upcoming freshman that wants to major in communications to get myself into the fashion industry and I’m stuck between these three. I’m from California and I want to go to the east. I love heard that Syracuse’s Newhouse has a really good communications program but only for journalism. Also, I’m leaning away from Syracuse because it’s in a rural area of New York and I doubt there are many internship opportunities. Syracuse is also the most expensive for me as of now. Northeastern and Boston College have given me good financial aid but I’m so torn between them. I know overall Boston College has a higher ranking on the US College Ranking website than Northeastern but I know Northeastern’s co-op program is amazing. Like I said, I’m just looking for a school that has a stronger communications program(public relations, advertising sort of thing). Ugh help! I’m not worried about how the campus looks but I guess it would be nice if it looked good. I haven’t visited either college yet because I really wanted to get a grasp on my options first before I spent any money. Let me know your thoughts!

Syracuse is a medium sized city, I would hardly call it a “rural” area. You haven’t visited yet? Today is decision day! I hope you have not deposited at all three schools because that is not allowed. You risk being rescinded if they discover that.

I’ve committed to Northeastern at the moment. I don’t think I’ll go to Syracuse since it’s more expensive. I got waitlisted at Boston College but I just wanted to know some more info in case I get accepted there.

Northeastern will definitely be better for internships and jobs because of the co-op program, as well as the city location. It’s ranked among the top for communications, which also benefits from that location.
