Boston Transfer Thread Fall 2015

@transferyas319
OK, mine was completed around the same time, so hope I can hear the decision soon. Thank you!!

Has anyone been accepted to College of Engineering? I submitted my application before Thanksgiving lol…

its nice to know that I am not alone in obsessively overthinking about this wait! as terrible as that sounds lol this is brutal!

I found out I had been accepted by checking my applicant link randomly, but I just received the email today around noon for those of you who are wondering.

@jkim3265 so I called BU today, and it doesn’t sound too bad. They told me that you more than likely will receive a decision before then, and that your final grades are more so to see if they are on track, or an improvement from your mid-term grades.

Congrats to all who got accepted!

@mislysBB …that sounds honestly really scary, what do you mean we’ll “more than likely” receive our decisions before then? Does that mean that they ultimately don’t need it to make their decisions before our final spring grades come out May 15th? And if they wanted to see if our grades were on track from our mid-term grades, does that mean that they do indeed need them before coming to a decision?

@jkim3265 I mean, I would imagine that they would want your spring grades if they either A. don’t have your midterm grades or B. think your mid term grades could use some improving upon.
I dunno, that’s what I got out of it. You might want to call BU and ask them, so you can get a clearer explanation for yourself. If you do, let me know what they tell you.
From what I gathered, they didn’t seem to be too concerned about it.

@mislysBB it’s just that, if they weren’t too concerned, why’d they be asking for it you know? I’m just wondering how likely I can get a reply by May 8th, because I have a lot of logistical concerns after May 15th that would really screw me over.

I don’t know why they’d be asking me (they wouldn’t give me a reason), since my mid - term report was all A’s except a >= B+ for a 1 credit course – like, I can’t really improve that any more by the end of the semester.

@jkim3265 @mislysBB
Have you called the office and asked them to remove those requirements? Because I had the same issue two weeks before, which asked me for Education Cap and Spring Semester Transcript. Then I called the office, they told me it was a technical issue and they removed those requirements.

Btw, is there anyone else waiting for decisions too?

@Triple2s
I’m still waiting for a decision, approximately 10 people from my college have gotten accepted since yesterday :frowning:

@jkim3265 I hear you, like I said, you might want to call them to ask them those questions. I’m just letting you know what they told me.

@kaiju0515 Which college? I have heard many acceptance and only few rejections these days. I am a little bit anxious now.

I know quite a few people who got accepted as transfers to BU as well, it seems as though they are accepting more transfers this year than in prior ones.

@triple2s When I called, I asked them if there was a chance that I would hear an admissions decision before then, and they said that there was a decent chance that I would. I stressed to them when I called, that I didn’t want having to wait a whole month to send in the final grades to affect my admissions decision a.k.a. I don’t want to end up sending the grades in May, and then end up not having my application really considered because they don’t have any more spots left.
But they did have a few mistakes on my applicant link, so I had to call anyways. I am hoping it won’t be on there tomorrow, or whenever they update my account.

@mislysBB When I called them before, they clearly stated that final report for the spring semester is not needed. They fixed the problem and updated my account after the call immediately. So I think you will be fine after talking to them tomorrow.

@Triple2s
We’re at Miami Dade Honors in Florida. I haven’t heard of any rejections, then again people probably aren’t making that public to me. Pretty upset, BU was one of my top choices. They’re also offering incredible financial aid this year. I have one friend with a full ride and two with 31K-45K packages…

@triple2s ah, thank you for saying that, it makes me feel much better!

@mislysBB You’re welcome. :slight_smile:

@kaiju0515 is that financial aid for transfers, or incoming freshmen? Because transfers get significantly less aid than freshmen, unfortunately. Freshmen are made the first priorities.

Now, if those are financial aid packages for transfers, then that is pretty impressive, especially for BU.
