@koreanincali yes they did! They requested midterm report from me. I still haven’t heard.
@ndgogo congratulations on your acceptance ! Did you receive the decision for financial aid at the same time ?
@ndgogo Hey what was your college stats if u dont mind sharing? I have similar HS stats as you too lol
Has anyone heard back from Questrom?
Thanks @ndgogo . I hope it will be quicker for you than for us. They told my son that he should hear back next week.
Does anybody know anything about the rescind policy? Im pretty sure I just bombed my finals and brought my grade down
@chahi what grades do you need to keep in order to not be recinded?
Honestly same I hope I don’t get rescinded if I have all A’s (and a B+) and then my D in an elective class
@koreanincali I have no idea, I guessed someone here would know, I have a C in one class now and a possible C+ in another but I think I can bring that one up.
@chahi would you please share your stats and what school you got into
@chahi I think if you get a C or above, it should be fine
@chahi are you accepted??
Guys when are we gonna get our decisionsssss!!!
I’m really curious to find out whether or not BU waits to send rejections at the very end…
If you get rejected at the end of their waves of decision letters, please post if you don’t mind
I’m wondering the same thing. Does anyone know if rejection are held until a certain time? Its definitely abnormal that we haven’t heard, especially given that we applied pretty early.
I’ll for sure post if I get rejected, this is pretty frustrating lol
I don’t think they already made up their mind on rejection and acceptance and are waiting to send rejections at the end of the waives. If they see someone that does not fit in their eyes, once they reviewed the file, they send the notification. So don’t jump to conclusions about this wait. As long as you wait, you are still considered. I think that the more the deadline for deposit approaches (June 1st), the more they receive phone calls and questions about Fin Aid, like appeals for example, and questions about housing… etc. So perhaps this is slowing the process a little bit. They also have to take into account the candidates who rejected their offer of acceptance. So they are not only reviewing files for acceptances, they are managing all the rest: this one said yes, this one said no, this what did not answer yet, this one is appealing his FA… etc. Stay optimistic !
Has anyone called to ask why they’re delaying releasing decisions?
Accepted a few weeks ago. Wanted to share my story in case you guys find it useful.
I guess you could say I consider myself a “non-traditional” applicant. I graduated from high school in 2011 and went straight to a CC because I had no idea what I wanted out of my life. I struggled to find motivation and ended up with a 2.3 GPA after 3 semesters. In November of 2012 I was hired at a software company here in San Diego so I decided to defer my education while I tried to find myself. A year and a half later the company was bought out by a private equity firm. After witnessing what a PE firm actually does I was immediately drawn to the fast-paced environment and decided to re-enroll at a local CC as a business student. I continued working full time while going to school and have been promoted twice. I now manage our company’s contract retention department responsible for $11M in revenue (not trying to brag, just want to give an accurate depiction of my application).
-Accepted to Questrom
-Coming from a California community college
-HS GPA: 3.67
-College GPA: about a 3.5. Started off terribly but have had a 4.0 the last 4 semesters
-Essays: 9/10
-Letters: 10/10. Got one from a director at the firm that owns the company I work for. We worked very closely.
My original goal was to work in investment banking and private equity but I’m now actually enjoying the operations side of things so I’m sort of unsure where I’ll end up.
NOTE: I know BU is not a target school for IB so keep those comments to yourself.
I was rejected from Cornell, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, and Duke. I consider this outcome a blessing in disguise. Boston here I come!
