Boston University or Syracuse? -Business-

What do you guys think of Boston University and Syracuse University? I am literally undecided between the two and BU will cost ~2k less than Syracuse for me. For somebody who is interested in Accounting & Finance, where should I attend? I prefer a campus setting, although BU being in Boston makes up for that (kind of). Please list some pro/cons & differences or anything that can help me decide. I really appreciate it.

I have visited Syracuse (liked it a lot) and am about to visit BU this week.

I don’t know anything about Syracuse, so it’s hard to compare… any specific questions about BU School of Management?

If it’s any help, the SMG building is beautiful. Makes me wish I was an SMG student.

I don’t think anyone can answer this for you because the dollar differences are not huge - unless they matter to you. I don’t know anything about Syracuse business. I would suggest looking at the websites to see if either school has an approach that appeals to you. SMG has a specific approach to business education. I have no idea if Syracuse does or if it’s a traditional business curriculum. But no one can decide for you about city versus campus, etc.

The dollar differences are not significant, but I’m just looking for info about both schools’ business programs in comparison with one another, if anybody knows. I mean, the Syracuse Orange Fund seems like a great program, but it is highly selective within, so admission would be rather difficult. But for BU, obtaining a minor in either econ or international relations seems really interesting. Can anyone comment on these?

Jobs after business school are often dependent on alumni connections; examine this from both schools if it comes down to this (and you can’t decide on other factors, like being in the middle of a city v campus environment)

Of course you can do econ or IR. That’s common. People combine all sorts of disciplines with SMG to match what they care about. You can even get a 2nd degree.
