Bouve school?

How selective is the Bouve school at Northeastern? Specifically for pharmacy?

I didn't mention pharmacy once on my common app besides in the major section. Now, I'm wondering whether pharmacy should have been my essay topic. Do you know what weighs most in their decision on acceptance? (essay topic, ECs, SAT scores, etc..)

Thank you!

Bouve is very selective, especially for their Pharm program. It is popular among applicants to Northeastern, but only the most academically and personally(ie: how did they show their love of medicine?) qualified students are accepted. I know the transfer board(not sure about regular admissions) is made up of medical professionals who want to be sure you’re dedicated to the program.

This is why I wish Northeastern required a supplement essay like some other pharm schools. There was no place to show my love for the medical field except if I included it in the common app essay. And my common app essay was not related to medicine. At all. It was a pretty so-so essay. damnn. lol If only I held off on sending it… I think my academics are fine for the school itself. I’m just worried about being accepted to their Pharm program.

I’m going to have to keep my fingers double-crossed for an acceptance. I listed second and third choice of majors, but I really, really want to get into their pharm program!

If you’ve already sent it in, then try not to fuss about it. No use in getting worked up about something that’s already done.

You could have made a copy of your common app on the website and submitted a different essay to specifically just northeastern

haha, don’t worry about it. I originally applied EA as a business major and got in, and then emailed and requested a major change to pharamcy two weeks later. Heard back 3 weeks after that, and now i’m a freshman at northeastern and a pharm major

so no, your essay doesnt have to be about medicine. the only medically related thing i’ve ever done is volunteer at my local hospital and participate in march of dimes once a year.

@sjt, you’ve pretty much made my day. =D Seriously, thanks for the stress relief.

@n01an- Now you tell me!.. lol jk. What’s done is done.

I know I should probably stop worrying about my application since there’s nothing I can do now, but the hardest part is the waiting.

Can anyone give a picture about the admitted students profile? like SAT and GPA stuffs.

The school’s website has all that info erkybk, shouldn’t be too hard to find.

actually i dont think it does specifically for the pharmacy program
