Bowdoin invitational?

its true dawg

trust me...its true...

ok fine i admit i was just bitter...haha
i was kinda upset that it took them 2 weeks extra to get back to me when they said they would tell me b4 oct 1...and i called them 3 times, left 2 messages and still no reply..sent an email too

so yeah aight i admit i got a lil hasty on my last reply about being better than everyone but eh w/e

hey, sorry man for not getting in. I am sure you have some great credentials. but i've talked to the admissions and they've said that not getting into the invitational has nothing to do with you getting into bowdoin and vice versa. so I would really chill about it. good luck in the admissions round though. :)

"i had already interviewed and visited this summer "

I think a large part of the admissions process considers whether a student could otherwise make it to Bowdoin on their own accord. The fact that you've already been and interviewed probably didn't help you.

Do we stay with current students or in some seperate place? Also, anyone have any ideas about weather that weekend?

Well, from what I've heard from ppl who went last year, students stay with their host students. Also I checked online and it says that the average low/high is 43/56 respectively...brr...lol...so yea, let me introduce myself so that we can get to know each other before next week! i'm from SoCal, asian, love soccer, and my favorite foods are kare raisu, sashimi, and spicy jambalya. Your turn...

It's actually pretty good weather so far in Maine, not too cold.

You'll be sleeping on a host student's couch most likely.

Good idea. From NY, asian(chinese), like playing soccer, not watching, but I'm not that good :(. Actually, pretty much like playing any sport for fun (not that competative), except baseball. Like computers (and the games on them) and video games, although all of my systems are broken or being borrowed right now. What else can I say?

BTW, do you know if they want us to have formal dress for the interview? I'm guessing semi-formal is alright. They said they would send me a list of what I would need but I've yet to recieve that list and doubt one exists since I just got my airline ticket today along with a letter from Bowdoin. What do you think we should bring? Sleeping on the couch doesn't seem so bad since I'm forced to do it often in my own home. I think it might be too early to predict the weather but I'll be sure to check the day before I go and I'd bring some extra clothing in case of random cold/hot days.

P.S I hate spicy food!

cool...i like playing and watching (world cup!) I'm not pro or anything...not much into video games, but its cool.

interviews would most likelly be semi-formal, that's what I am counting on. and yea, i don't think they'll be sending a list, i just got my tickets today too---6hr flight ugh---but yea, i think bringing couple outfits, one formal, semi-formal, and 2 casual is good, sleeping blanket/pillow, toiletries, towel, etc.

and btw, spicy food rocks! lol :p

Hey! I'm going too.
I'm from Alabama, and it's just started to get "cold" here...so yeah...Maine weather is going to be very cold.
Okay, question for you guys, did you get anything (mail, email) officially saying what we have to bring--specifically who we're staying with? My parents are kind of freaked about the lack of information about what I'm going to do and who I'll be with this weekend.

hey sunflower! I am originally from ga so yea cool! :) i haven't received anything from the mail, but I would just bring enough warm layers for three days and all the other basic things....but if your parents are really anxious then I would just emai erby...see you at bowdoin!

Ok, cool. I've just emailed the Admissions Office. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I like to know what'll be happening. I went to Swarthmore's Discovery Weekend and they practically flooded us with information and activities, but it was really well organized. I'm wondering whether Bowdoin's will be the same or if it is just thrown together. I hope not because it sounds like a great school! Well, anyways see you there!
