Boys' State/Girls' State

I'm going to Missouri Boys State, and I'm really excited about the speakers that they have lined up.
The "speaker-of-the-week," if you will, is Mike Huckabee. I'm not a huge Huckabee fan, but i'm still really excited to get to hear him speak.
then they have the three major candidates running for Governor in MO next year.
they then have a marine that has served 4 tours of duty, and this is after he was a presidential scholar coming out of college. Oh, he's also a gold-glove boxer. He's supposed to be one of the more popular speakers.

then i'm forgetting one other person...

anyway, i was wondering if anybody knew who the other boys'-state/girls's-state programs were getting.
also, is anybody else going to MO's Boy State?

What is a "Missouri?"

im going to boys state in CA but i have no idea about the speakers. all i know is that if you have a high position, you get to personally meet the governor of california, Arnold Schwarzenegger (famous actor you've most likely heard of him)

I'm going to Bluebonnet Girls State (Texas)...

I'm a sophomore so i won't be going..but how do you get into it anyways? Do teaching staff pick or something?

at my school, there was no application or anything, in fact i hadnt even heard about boys' state until the teachers told me i was selected. so ya, the ap us history teachers picked at my school

I'm going to Texas Girls State too. =)

stueyduey, lol APUSH teachers? that's kinda random.

No way Charmelody! :) Maybe we'll share a dorm or be on the same party. :)
