Did you have braces? How important are straight teeth for you?

So did you have them, or are your teeth naturally straight? How important are straight teeth in a boy/girlfriend?

I had them 3 times.
6 months in 2nd grade to correct an underbite
2 years in 6-7th grade for standard braces reasons.
8 months in 9th grade because I received a new retainer (which turned out to be made for someone else) from my ortho and my teeth shifted. He didnt charge this time since it was his fault.

I find straight teeth to be really attractive, and while its not a deal breaker, it is a bigger factor in whether I find someone attractive than it is for most people.

I`m getting them on November 5th -_-

Straight teeth are nice. My aren
t crooked, there
s just some spaces between them.

I had braces for 2 years (got them off May this year) and while I initially hated the idea of getting them, boy am I glad I did! My teeth are perfect now and they are a real confidence booster. I don’t understand why people refuse to wear their retainers afterward. Why let years of being a metalmouth go to waste? Totally worth it, trust me.

I know several adults who got braces since they didn’t have them as kids. I think it’s better to get it over with as a teenager.

I’m so excited I get my braces off on Halloween! Then I can eat all the candy I want. I’ve had braces for almost two years, and it has completed fixed my buck teeth.

When I had braces I ate popcorn, celery, candy, and gum. Didn’t have any problems.

I had braces for 5 years (from 6th grade to summer after 10th grade) and had 3 surgeries in that time. I had to get braces because a tooth was stuck and was actually dangerous for me xD. I HATED braces so much, it was horrible.

But, at least I have straight teeth now! :)

Mine aren’t noticeably crooked unless you really look at them, so they’re not bad enough to be fixed (but I hate them).

^that sucks to have it 5 years. People are usually shocked about how many times I’ve had them.

I had braces for 2 years and I got them off in January of 8th grade. I had gaps and crooked teeth, I have a permanent retainer on my top teeth…

anyway. I LOVE my teeth, I was very self conscious about them, so now it’s like WOW. I get compliments on my teeth all the time and I’m like “Aw Shucks!”

I think teeth are important, a few gaps is one thing- I think people with straight teeth look better/ find myself more attracted to them. But as long as they aren’t rotten I’m ok w/ it.

I get them off in a few weeks after just over 2 years. I had a tooth in the wrong place. Kinda had to get that fixed.

I had braces for a total of almost four years, two years when I was eight, one and a half when I was 14. My teeth were a total mess to a point where teeth could not grow in, if it was not so severe I doubt I would have ever had braces. It is nice having straight teeth now, but there are more important things. I am one of those people that couldn’t care less about appearances (both in myself and others), I am a jeans and t-shirt type of person, so teeth don’t really matter to me.

My teeth are straight enough that I don’t need braces. I hate my teeth though. My molars are so sharp because I grind my teeth when I sleep. They’re like freaking razors!

braces are a necessary evil if you have gaps or buck teeth. you’ll HATE them while you have em (and no, they don’t look good on ANYONE) but it’s worth it

I never had braces, but I probably should have, since my teeth are slightly crooked. I’ll probably regret not having braces in the future, but for now, I don’t really care since it’s not that noticeable.

Never had braces. My teeth doesn’t have any problems that are worth spending 1000+ dollars for.

I have had braces for a little more than a year now I think. My upper teeth are fine, my lower are the ones that are very crooked. I haven’t seen them become anymore straight though…

How long are braces supposed to stay on? :o

2 years is standard

Had them somewhere between 2 & 3 years, probably closer to 2.5-3.

I always notice peoples’ teeth, and I find them really attractive when straight.

Yeah that’s usually the first thing I notice about someone- whether they have straight teeth or not.
