I know bringing my laptop would help me avoid lines on the last day when I register, but is that pretty much all I'd need it for? Do most people bring theirs anyways?

That’s pretty much all you’ll need it for, I think. I still think you should bring yours, though. It makes things go a lot faster.

You might also need it for looking up classes etc beforehand.

I went to the PCL library and used a computer there. I’m not sure why more people don’t do this. I suppose they don’t want to tell people this because then the library would get flooded with orientees wanting to register. I also registered for one class on my phone.

A laptop is very useful for looking up classes and professors, and making sure that your schedule works. You can also skip the lines at the FAC and register on your laptop. I feel like the whole class selection and registration process would be very difficult without a personal computer.

Or you can simply go to any place on the planet earth that has a computer and an internet connection and look up classes/register there. There is no reason to even be on the campus in order to register once you clear your advising bar. In fact, I was pretty upset that I wasted money on a hotel since after my advising session on day one there was absolutely no reason I needed to still be there.

^I Concur. I brought my laptop and ended up using the computer on campus.

BRING IT!!! That was the only way that I got such a good schedule. I got to registration 20 minutes early, and they opened up 10 minutes earlier than they said they would. Within a minute, I had already looked up each number and organized my schedule. Bring a laptop lock though, as there have been several room burglaries in the dorms in the past few weeks.
