I just recently graduated from my second college but the college gpa from my old school will bring down my overall gpa and I’m trying to go to a 4 year school …if I transfer my new credits from the college I just graduated from back to my old school will it bring up my gpa at my old school ?
Ask your old school, but many schools accept transfer credits but not transfer grades. Meaning classes taken elsewhere might not affect your GPA at the school in question.
thank you because my gpa from my new school is high but my gpa from my old is low and will ring it down so I’m trying to see if I transfer my credits back will it bring it up but I was gonna ask my school
Shuffling around credits does not change your GPA.
At the end of the day you have taken a certain number of college classes in total. Given the grades for each class you can calculate your overall college GPA. Assigning some of the classes to one school and some to another does not change your GPA. Colleges look at the total record. In fact if you look at the transfer forum you’ll see many students attend several community colleges at the same time in order to get all the classes they need.
Ive been trying to find a way to calulate my gpa every app i use gives me a different answer so i can go off of those
Why does this matter?
You have a poor GPA at your 1st school.
You have a better GPA at your 2nd school. Does your 2nd school’s GPA include those poor grades from school #1??
Note that there may be a maximum number of transfer credits accepted by the next school. Alternatively, they may require taking certain number of credits after transfer to meet the graduation requirement.
