yea jkphf where dyou live

I live in Boston, so I guess they sent it out early yesterday.
gl to others

was it USPS, UPS, fedex, dhl? God. I am paranoid.

waaaahhh international post... I think I'll go kill my pain by studying for my exams. :(

why does it matter which carrier? jesus jimmy read back a few posts...

congrats bro. you think you going?

this is so stupid, but i was thinking of the whole columbia ordeal... where people called in to see if there was a package coming. i read back, but what were you referring to?

congrats to jkphf! i guess i'll have to wait another week and know the answer by asking my parents to describe the size of the envelope ;-)

well i was pretty sure someone mentioned "mail". but i suppose mail could mean express shipment to some people with limited shipment vocab. o well. itll be here soon enough.

To answer Jimmy's question, it was USPS first class mailed from zip code 02912 ($1.82 lol).
I think I will be going to Brown. Hope to hear about others getting their package soon.

^^^ congrats. i'm sure you were more than a worry applicant. enjoy your experience at Brown. May it be an easy transition from your current institution and make sure you celebrate this great accomplishment!

congradulations!! see you next year :)

congrats jkphf!

I guess I'll be expecting my rejection tomorrow afternoon :P

haha me too!!

Jkphf: Did your letter say how many applied and how many were admitted? Congrats!!

TerrarumOrbis, there was no mention of how many were accepted.
It reads, "You are one of a small group of highly-qualified students accepted from among more than 1,000 applicants for full-time matriculation."

also just for the info, the phrasing for the housing was a bit awkward:
"transfer students.. are generally required to live in University housing. While we are UNABLE to guarantee you an on-campus room assignment prior to the beginning of classes, we are able to provide temporary, on-campus housing when you arrive. All room assignments, permanent or temporary, will be made upon your arrival on campus."

sounds hella shady

LOL I'll live in a cardboard box if they ask me to.

In response to the bit regarding the housing- I don't know why admissions continually includes that statement about housing. It may be their poorly worded way of saying that while we can't give you your room assignment now, you will be guaranteed housing next year so that students can take that into consideration when they decide between schools. I know last year that my acceptance letters from Wesleyan and Tufts said I would not be able to live on campus first semester, and while Wash U. was generous enough to offer practically a full scholarship, they couldn't offer me on campus housing. They said the same thing last year, and everyone got their rooming assignments at least three weeks before orientation started; very good housing right on Wriston, at that.

Mail just came... nothing here (just outside of Boston).
