Happy new year’ssssssssssssssssssss

Yayyy. Happy New Year! Maybe by the end of the year, we’ll all be Brown students! :D

Now I just need to finish the supplements for 2 other schools and I’m done with applications for what… another three years before I’ll be applying to grad/med school?

I just have 2 universities left- but i know im not getting in anywhere.
damn, i hate being from India.

In the course of one day, I dropped about 5 colleges from my list. Still have a lot to got. Thankfully they’re not all due tonight.

I submitted mine 2 days ago Only UChicago, Tufts, and Columbia, then I’m FINALLY done.

Applied yesterday and am thoroughly pumped for the results.

Also applied to:
Chirstopher Newport (Accepted)
James Madison University (Pending)
University of Chicago (Accepted)
Dartmouth (Deferred)
Penn
Cornell
Emory
Oberlin
Vassar
William and Mary (In-state)
UVA (In-state)

Ugh, I am gonna get quite a few rejections this spring, but all I need is a couple acceptances. :)

^you’re so lucky to live in VA
I’d kill to go to UVA on 10k tuition PLUS its so much easier to get accepted in state
did you apply ED to dartmouth?

Stupefy, I love living in VA. We have kids get into William and Mary and UVA with 1800s and 1900s all the time where I live, while kids OOS have to have 2000+.

And yeah, I applied ED. Seeing that I have a 2120(1360) SAT and everything else was just pretty good, I am glad I wasn’t denied. Things are lookin pretty good for me, as lame as it sounds. As in, knock on wood, I just think that colleges look past SATs and judge more holistically than people think. However, who really knows? :P

^I’m hoping colleges look past test scores. I’ve seen Stanford be really nice about letting low, low 2000’s (i.e. 2040) in, but the Ivies seem to be a little bit meaner >.<

^ I very much hope so as well. I mean, I can write. I am top 3 percent of my grade, already gotten my IB Diploma, blah blah blah. I mean, my SATs are not AWFUL, but being an unhooked applicant makes it tough with a below 2200 SAT scores. I just hope my ACT scores are better. :P

^ Yup! I’m right behind you! I have a 2100/1350. And my writing is my highest score… I do love my college essays though…
Yeah, I might take the ACT one last time in February, as Yale (not Brown :()allows for you to. So far they seem to contradict everything I’ve gotten on the SAT.

@rmadden15: where in VA are you from? i’m repping RVA (richmond!)

anyone else have trouble with the brown e-mail? i tried e-mailing admissions about something, but my message was returned three times.

I literally just pressed submit on my last application. I don’t even feel releived hahaaa

If I haven’t already posted it, this was my final list
Brown (deferred ED)
Dartmouth
Wesleyan
UChicago
Tufts
Duke
WashU

Plus a couple schools in Canada (basically McGill and Queens) as safeties.
Good luck to everybody who is still finishing their apps

Haha, I haven’t posted my list yet, so here it is:

Brown (deferred ED)
Wesleyan
Vassar
Amherst
Williams
UPenn
Colgate
Skidmore
Clark
Binghamton

The last four are more along the lines of safeties, I would say. But anyway, good luck to everyone! :)

Dramacratic - My original list actually included the majority of those schools. My list was really long though and to narrow it down, and as bad as it is, because I liked all the schools I looked at which ones required essays and took those out. (Kept in WashU, Wesleyan and Dartmouth - none of them need supplemental apps) That makes me sound awful, but I really couldn’t handle the extra essays hahaa Oh well

I haven’t even gotten my application status login.
and why are you applying to brown if you already got into yale? ugh I envy you!

^because i sent in my apps already, spent the money, and don’t plan on withdrawing. financial aid comparison (still don’t have my package from yale). plus, interest. EDIT: also, parents’ wishes.

drpvv, haha, well good luck man. I STILL don’t know my December ACT scores. But yeah, I just hope my essays have a bit more weight than those stupid tests. :P

msheard, I am from Clarke County, which I don’t know about. It is bordering West VA, but near the top of VA.
