I haven’t finished the supplement yet. I love the idea of “What don’t you know?” but I’ve been thinking about it since July and I haven’t been able to come up with any good ideas/topics, so I might have to do one of the more traditional ones.

Are any of you IB students??
Do you know approx. how many IB Diploma Points Brown looks for?

I am not IB.

Roskach- we take our exams in late May and we don’t find out what we made until the summer, right? That’s after we get into college. I don’t think Brown’s looking for how many diploma points we get, but that we stuck with the program until the end.

Yes that’s right, we don’t get our grades until the summer.
Instead we need predicted grades when applying, so I was just wondering if anybody knew how many points is required at Brown…?
Are you in the IB?

I’m from New York! I’m working on the “what don’t you know” essay now. I posted a question about it, I’d love your opinions.

I heard Brown puts test scores as more of a secondary and the admissions office really looks at personal character, talents, etc. True? False?
It’s true at least according to their common data set!

Please do not post your stats, use your own thread, this one is to discuss other things. the admission office will have the last word.

have you received your password to login?

hey, i applied RD to brown, and i dont look forward to waiting FOREVER
haha

fellow RD here! pending ED somewhere else
im currently slaving away on essays…sigh.

Yay Brown! First Choice all the way! :)

I agree with those who are talking about “What Don’t You Know?” I thought it would be really cool… until I decided to start writing it. I wrote a draft that is basically just things that I wonder about that I can never know… like Does God exist? I’m not sure if it sounds too heavy though… Maybe I should keep it lighter, like How do necklaces always get into knots? etc. (these are just sample questions, not for the whole essay) Thoughts?

dancer13: Yeah, I’ve been having the same issue. I have a list of questions no one seems to be able to answer, and I was thinking of just listing them instead of writing a real essay-like thing. But I was also thinking of talking about how all knowledge stems from experience or something more theoretical and philosophical than that.

im planning to use my stanford intellectual vitality essay.
waay too many essays for brown, i dont know when to start!

teenage_cliche: yeah i felt like i kept trying different things and none of them worked. what you don’t know is infinite, so it’s really hard to write about. I decided to change to the first essay and combine it with princeton, and i honestly think it’s going to be a lot better than trying too hard to do the interesting topic

Looking at this thread where people were talking about the “What Don’t You Know?” essay, I started freaking out thinking I forgot to do one (submitted my application last week).
Then I finally realized I did the intellectual experience one instead :]
