Yes! I think about it and feel sick.

I really really really really really wish I get in… I really do. omg. Can’t even describe this with words.

@leahleah I’m with you. I’ve been checking twice a day, every day even though I know decision aren’t up. I really hope they don’t track how often I check because that would look really pathetic haha. Needless to say, I really really really want to get in as well. Hopefully our anxious selves will cross paths at Brown!

Good luck to everyone!

Is the decision going to be released on Brown’s summary page or the website Brown Admissions links to on its webpage: http://admissiondecision.brown.edu/

Not sure why it matters. The following two quotes are from the Brown Admissions FAQ page:

We view our applicants as individuals and pay no attention to the number of candidates from a single school or area. We know that there are rumors about patterns of admission for an individual school, but the truth is that we never place restrictions on the number of students we might admit from a certain school or geographic location.

While it may be interesting to describe a student population in terms of certain characteristics (the number of men and women, potential engineers, Oklahomans, students of color, international citizens, home schoolers, and so on), there are no quotas of any kind.

From the Brown Admissions FAQ page (highly recommended for all applicants…and most responders here)

You can obtain the decision on your application from our online Application Summary site. Access to this site will be provided once we receive your application. If you are admitted, you will also receive important documents by mail.

Question : Will Brown release all decisions on 11-Dec or it releases those in waves? Like a few hundred every day? I heard that many colleges do this in waves, so asking.

@fenwaypark As I previously said, I understand it’s useless to try to determine if I’m in an underrepresented area. It matters simply because I’m curious about how Brown classifies me and want to know what others not from my area would think.

There is so much stress on this board! I won’t tell you all how you should feel, but I think it’s worth repeating the information that was posted a few weeks back:

“3,088 applicants applied early to Brown. 583 applicants were admitted. 325 applicants were rejected. Approximately 71 percent of the applicants were deferred.”

[From ivysuccess.com]

~18% will be accepted, only ~11% will be rejected. That means that ~71% of you will be waiting until April 1st for decisions.

Of course these %s change year to year but historically Brown seems to accept and reject a lower % in the ED round than other Ivies.

Good luck everyone.

I have mid terms so I don’t have time to work on my other applications just in case. At the same time it makes time go faster since i’m taking tests during the whole week

I’m going to be on an aeroplane without wi-fi when decisions are released. :(

I’ll be in a rundown meeting at elite daily when decisions are released. I’ll have to resist the urge to check during the meeting

Can any Alumni and/or Interviewers tell me which states are in the “Midwest” and “Central” regions according to Brown? My state is classified as one of those two in various locations and the census, etc. I know it has no impact on admissions decisions, but now I am simply curious to see how many people are applying/attending from my geographic area. Thanks!

@fenwaypark the following link is a little more current…
<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University;

Good find! No changes in the geographic areas, correct?

There is no “Central” region on the above map and they refer to “Central” in the pie chart in the article. So does anyone know which states are “Central”?

Did brown call any of your schools to ask for first quarter grades from this year? They did for me and I’m just curious~ also, what major did you guys apply for?

They called my school on November 14th for first term grades.
