If they reach out to you about clarification in financial aid is that a sign that they want you? Do they calculate the financial aid for everyone?
ohhhhhhh ma gawd guys i keep freaking out over this!! ONLY A WEEK LEFT WHAT deep breaths continues writing other college supplementals
Does our interviewer know if we will be accepted or not?
guys, I emailed my admissions officer abt first quarter grades. Here is her response:
Whether or not we send an email to a counselor requesting first quarter grades does not hold any impact on your case. We have many different reasons for requesting first quarters and often enough the counselor has already sent them to us. Have a good weekend.
best,
Heather L. Vermillion
The interviewer finds out 3 days after us
I heard a rumor from previous years that if you log into the Brown Wiki ( https://wiki.brown.edu ) and are able to navigate throughout it without a “not permitted” message popping up, then it means you have been accepted. Would some of you be willing to try logging in and post back here how it worked out. I didn’t get a “not permitted” message, but I have the feeling that the rumor might not be true.
It lets me do things @barbaragordon
Can anyone besides me enter it and see everything!!!
same here
That does not sound real to me whatsoever
I can enter as well.
OK, cool. I kinda figured it was fake.
damn haha…Who else here is ready for a deferral??
guys how many people get deferred on average from the ED pool of applicants?
Something like 75% are deferred. They don’t reject many people ED
that sucks…
I really just want a decision getting deferred is so stressful
A deferral is essentially equivalent to a polite rejection.
20% admitted, 70% deferred, 10% rejected (generally, and approximately).
Dont most people who get deferred end up getting rejected?
While a deferral at many schools is a polite rejection (ha), I don’t think it really is at Brown. Although it’s still extremely tough to get in during Regular Decision, I have a friend at Brown that was originally deferred (and who has friends there that were also deferred). Even my interviewer said that she got deferred and to not feel torn up about it if I do get deferred. Also, keep in mind that even though the Early Decision acceptance rate is 20%, the early decision class is made up of 25% athletes, so I think (I did the math a while ago) the acceptance rate for non-athletes early is 15%.
