the first announcement

Interview reports are due on the 7th and decisions come out on the 10th. Says a lot about how much Brown cares about interviews.

When Brown releases the decisions, do we receive an email with our decisions, or do we need to check the portal???

@Gdawg30 You receive an email telling you to check your portal.

Hi everyone! I’m on practically the edge of my seat at every moment of every day. The waiting in limbo is probably the worst part (and yes I’m fully aware of how much getting rejected sucks, and I’m bracing myself accordingly) I was just wondering what everyone’s takes on the first quarter grade requests are? Both my friend and I found out today that our guidance department was contacted and asked to submit our first quarter grades. I’m taking it as we aren’t completely rejected yet though, but does anyone have any more specific thoughts on it?

@ars4978 every year they ask for every applicant at my schools first quarter grades, it doesn’t mean anything. First quarter grades are important towards the decision though, since they are the most recent.

@ars4978 and @Pandu599 I don’t understand the whole grade situation…I wasn’t asked…do you guys think that’s a bad sign?

@Gdawg30 I really have no concrete idea other then that they’re still reviewing my application in some form or another. I’m hoping it’s a positive sign in that I wasn’t an outright rejection- which isn’t to say that they aren’t still considering you. It may be more school based. Maybe they don’t typically ask from your school for first quarter grades, maybe your guidance counselor hasn’t received the notification or maybe he or she contacted your parents rather than you to ask for permission. It really could be a whole host of reasons that aren’t necessarily evident. Don’t let it bother you too much; we’ll all know in a little over a week. I just am an anxious person in general and I wanted to know some other thoughts on the matter. Sorry if I made you more anxious than need be!

Honestly, at this point all that there’s left to do is relax and wait. Tomorrow is my birthday and I’m going to do my best to forget college exists whatsoever :smiley:

It doesn’t mean anything! Don’t worry about it.

Thanks @ars4978! No, you didn’t stress me out!! I’m very anxious too, so that makes two of us :)…And happy birthday! Hope you get in.

@Gdawg30 thanks! I’m excited- I’m turning 18. I’m going for lunch with my mom and then home to nap and do homework. No room for college stress in the birthday itinerary! :slight_smile: I hope everything works out for you too though! Brown is quite literally a dream.

@ars4978 tomorrow is my birthday too! i’m turning 17 though, haha. maybe we can go to brown together and be birthday twins

@pontmercy haha, I’ve always wanted a birthday twin! I guess it’s kismet. Happy early birthday- hope you have a great, stress free day tomorrow. :slight_smile:

I applied to Brown through QuestBridge and today I learned that I will be attending Brown on a full scholarship! So excited! Hope to meet some of you in the future!

Would I have some way of knowing if Brown asked for my first marking period grades or would I have to ask my guidance counselor?

@elizabrown Just email your guidance counselor.

@shaina3399 Congratulations !!! Good luck to everyone else, who is waiting for the result, like me.

Thank you!

Did brown just email your guys’ counselors?
