violintigress: Let me put this into perspective. ONLY in the CC planet are these stats not considered amazing. Your stats are a lot more than “fine.” They are not a liability. Be proud of what you’ve accomplished. Those scores are good enough to get into Brown.
To clarify, I never meant that the 2200 SAT wasn’t strong; I merely intended to convey that the 4.89 GPA was the stronger part of those statistics (as @McKilla99 said, “That’s ridiculously good.”), while a 2200 falls within the middle 50 for Brown (still an accomplishment in and of itself), and that Brown is a reach even for elite students like @violintigress .
I hope I didn’t offend anyone or come off as arrogant, because that was not at all my intention.
Thanks for those responses! I was not offended at all by anyone, I just wanted to know if my stats would rule me out immediately. Glad to hear you guys think otherwise
@aBitOfLuck I attend a school that does not offer AP/IB classes. However, I’ve taken 50+ credits worth of college courses (extremely high level ones too, like major-level courses) at my local university. I’ve received all As in those courses too. I’m also ranked 1st in my class of about 60 students.
@waddups You sound like an extremely motivated, accomplished student; as long as you made those 50+ credits and all As clear on your app, they should help you significantly.
I must assert how impressed I am; nice job, and if Brown doesn’t take you, it will be the loser!
my interview is coming up and it will be conducted via skype. any suggestions on what i should prep for question wise other than the basics? (why brown, academic/intellectual interests, etc.)
@epoque Try to find a connection with your interviewer; (s)he typically will have something interesting in common with you, and the more quickly you find it, the better.
My school just sent the finalized midyear transcripts and reports, which means my application is completely finished and there’s really nothing else I can do but wait. Ugh. This is awful.
Should I be worried if I still have this at the top of my Brown self service page?
“We are continuing to process application materials for you. The volume of mail and online submissions is extremely high in the weeks around our application deadlines. Please continue to check back on this site for updates to the status of your application checklist.
Please note that the “Received Date” displayed below will in many cases fall after our official deadlines. There is no need for you to worry if the date displayed falls after our official deadline.”
I can’t even see information about mid-year transcripts, etc.
@server456 I’ve got the blurb too. I don’t have any info about midyear reports (although I’m certain that my counselor sent it in), but I’ve got the checklist with the standard teacher evaluations and school report. I don’t know if that helps, but I hope it does!
