Brown Class of 2022 Applicants Discussion

I’m going in for a double concentration/major in Sociology and Psychology. 3.8 unweighted and 4.7 weighted GPA

I put Biomedical Engineering and Public Health :).

Double concentration in Astronomy and Geology-Chemistry (I want a career in Astrobiology, hence the username). My GPA is the lowest point of my application, UW 3.75 (W 4.32)

Applied as an Urban Studies major - GPA is 4.0/5.1 (I think this translates to roughly a 4.6 on a 5 point scale)

Going in for French as my major and my minor psychology ! Really hoping everyone is going to get it ! Keeping my fingers crossed

^^Brown doesn’t have minors lol.

Psych classes sounds cool for any major.

I meant get in ahahahah

I think a lot of people want to study Psych so that’s probably why.

@MissE99 Woah I am from Akron OH too! What school do you go to?

And I applied for PLME and bio major

@namkrebaon I’m pretty sure tmrw at 4pm eastern time zone. Hopefully they will release tomorrow and not a later day!

@astrobiodreams No way, I want to study astrobiology as well!!! I put Geology-Biology as my intended major.

Science Technology Society and Computer Science, all the applicants regardless of major are in the same pool right? does it matter?

I applied as biochemistry/molecular biology and psychology, 3.9 unweighted and 4.68 weighted. Based off those stats alone I don’t think i’m competitive enough for brown.

I applied as political science major, 4.0 unweighted and 4.95 weighted.

art history major. 3.8 uw and 5.2 weighted i think. How many AP classes is everyone graduating with? What’s good for Brown?

@raffie I think that it does matter because if it doesn’t then they wouldn’t ask/have us write an essay on it. They just want to see that you have passion for something and that your ecs/grades/classes back that up. If say you were planning to study a less-popular major like Egyptology or something and your interest is genuine and not made up then that can help. I think being a female interested in engineering helps a little (or at least I hope lol). I def think it matters though.

Top ten majors of class of '19 were engineering, biology, undecided, comp. science, economics, international relations, biochem and molecular biology, english, history, and poly sci

i just emailed the admissions office ten minutes ago and they said they don’t know when they are releasing…
