Brown Class of 2023 Applicants Discussion

@chunkylegs I have it too, also received on 2/7. However, since I have already completed high school, my counselor submitted the entire high school transcript. I also believe that there are no ‘Easter eggs’ concerning college admission. As an unremarkable international student, I only applied to Brown because I sincerely love it and didn’t want to spend the rest of my life regretting.

Anyhow, best of luck to you!!!

@theDOVE I totally get why that status shows on your portal though. All the best dude!

@TheGuy1 Hahaha thanks!! All the best to you too, friend ^^

So I am conflicted, someone in Providence RI was on my website for 18 minutes (the average is 2) is that a good sign?

@alexandra00 possibly? (!!!)

Does Brown send likelies?

Yes, I think last year they were received in early March and dated February 22nd.

@alexandra00 As AdCom members, for holistic review, they check out every bit of info you give 'em.

@alexandra00 How did you check this?

@chunkylegs I have the same thing in my portal. It says my Final School Transcript was received 02/07/2019.

@chunkylegs My high school uses the two semester system and final transcripts won’t be available until the end of May.

Hi everyone! I applied to Brown regular decision this year and I just recently saw the application addition of an alumni interview or a 2-minute video. I didn’t find out about this until a few weeks ago, meaning that I didn’t do the thing where you choose one over the other. My question here is that if I didn’t choose one or the other, would I just automatically have to make a video then? Also, would the video component be required even if you didn’t “opt-in” for it?

@xmas19 so weird!

@chunkylegs I’m hoping that it may be indicative of an acceptance… I’m most likely overthinking it though! lol

@churchthecat Yes. Now you’ll have to do the video part. If you despise that so much, then maybe write an email explaining the sitch. You can write an email to the AdCom regarding this, but generally ‘negligence’ on the applicants end is not taken positively, especially when the School tries to convey something.

@xmas19 Maybe…maybe not. Top tier schools such as Brown dont give off admissions status based clues to applicants/anyone related like this especially this far ahead of the decision release date(s).

@TheGuy1 Thanks for the response! I’ll probably just do it. I’m just trying to come up with some ideas right now

@churchthecat Remember, its a 2 minute video, and the AdCom values content over editing skills (obviously). All the best!

It’s interesting that this has happened to multiple people. It could just be a categorical mistake on someone’s part, but could also be an “easter egg.” Mine just says Midyear Transcript & Midyear Report, and so does the Common App…

@mattm2019 me too
