Aaaand it has disappeared again lol
I think last year they were still using Banner as the admissions portal. That has changed this year so not sure how relevant your last year’s experiences may still be. Totally different platform.
Yes it disappeared again. May be they looked at our chats, lol
No, they used the applicant portal (apply.college.brown.edu/apply/status). Banner was used for the Class of 2022 and earlier, IIRC. Banner is still used for financial aid documents and for checking your award if admitted.
It might be due to a programming error, since I remember Admissions had pushed out the conditions of admission for waitlist applicants over the summer to everyone, whether or not they had been admitted.
Apparently, people have been getting emails from the Brown Financial Aid Office directly…
Interesting, but I wouldn’t read too much into it since decisions are about to release. Again, I applied for FA and was admitted without an IDOC request or any communications from the FA Office. Good luck!
Hey guys, I just got an email from Brown that was sent to my counselor talking about the stats of ED.
53% were rejected
30% deferred
17% accepted
Hopefully we’re the 17%!
Is that acceptance rate lower than normal?
I’m not sure, usually it’s around 21% so there is a difference.
This was from ED thread for Class of 2024 here - “17.5% acceptance this year, with around 20% deferred and 60% rejected”. Based on what you shared CO 2025 there are higher percentage of deferred and lower percentage of rejected. Good overall I think. All the Best to you all!
I thought it was 17.5 % last year.
Good luck to all!
Do they send this to every counselor?
Was this information specifically requested by your counselor, or was it sent in a general email to all counselors of applicants?
I think they sent it to all counselors, mine didn’t request any information.
Thanks for posting the info.
Thank you for sharing. If ED app went up 16%, that means Brown accepted a higher absolute # than last year. Good luck to all you kids who applied!!
yes, and the higher deferral number makes sense in this environment…
Yep. Checked with the counselor, and the email says 53% rejected, 30% deferred, and almost 900 offers of admission made to 5,540 applicants (largest ED applicant pool in history and 22% increase over last year).
