My daughter’s hasn’t. We just checked. Funny that the message above says otherwise:
“In preparation for releasing admission decisions, the checklist on your Brown portal is no longer available for viewing.
You may continue to upload any supplementary materials and updates below. Admission decisions for Early Decision applicants to the Class of 2025 will be available online December 17, 2020 beginning at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.”

yes, no checklist now but see the Edit Portfolio under Video Portfolio
Now that there is a link to “edit portfolio” under Video Portfolio, can anyone view theirs when they click it?
Yeah I can view mine.
I got the idee that they wanted everyone to submit video portfolio. that was almost not an option, right? atleast I understood it that way.

It basically replaces the interview, which I felt was more of a “are you a normal human being that can interact with other people and are ready to go to college” than anything else. It’s just another way for Brown to get to know more about you other than on paper, and if you did that, then you’ll be fine.

today, there is one more paragraph under the portfolio stating that although not a requirement, we encourage you to submit it…does anyone else see it?

I think that paragraph has been there, no? At least for me I’m pretty sure it has.

As far as I remember, that paragraph was there from the beginning. I have seen it multiple times and read it to my daughter multiple times to encourage her to send one in. Of course, to no avail!
I know it was there, in fact I am pretty sure of it.

yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s been there since even before the checklist disappeared…
It wasn’t there last year, though that was likely since I had an alumni interview and the portal won’t let you submit a video portfolio in that case. However, the Admissions website does state that it is “helpful way to show us who you are and why you are interested in attending Brown.”
Either way, decisions have already been made (or are close to being made), so whether or not anyone has made a video portfolio is a moot point now. Good luck everyone!
