@2010MOVEON: Brown isn’t the kind of school that solely looks at your GPAs and stats…although during the info session, that AO guy did say that college GPA is the most important part of the application…

I asked for early decision and they put me on transfer waitlist. I asked for the decision early so that I won’t wait, and now they are putting me on waitlist lol

If college GPA is what they look at most I wonder if they will pay more attention to my 3.25 the last two quarters or my 3.8 this quarter. My classes this quarter are at a higher level (one sophomore and one junior level class and I’m a freshman).
Also, does anybody know how much they look at your college GPA from running start? I only got a 2.85 in the college classes I took in high school and I’m worried that could reflect quite badly on me even though I now nearly have a 4.0.

can brown’s admission decision be appealed??

i dont think they look at appeals:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/brown-university/684436-appeal-brown.html

but hey, decisions arent even out yet you might not have to appeal.

hm… no i’m rejected.
haha. early decision.

If I don’t get into brown I’ma go double or triple muslim

^ wow. With that attitude you have no place at Brown.

Let me get this straight…you criticize my ‘judgmental attitude’ by judging me as a “PC Ivory tower egg headed liberal”?

Besides that, I’m pretty sure your first post was the one that had all the judgement. To equate the Muslim religion with terrorism is the pinnacle of ignorance and ill-placed judgement. I think a lot of the political correctness in this country is completely ridiculous, but what you said extends far beyond political correctness, even if it was just meant as a joke.

glennnat seems like an idiot. I’d recommend ignoring him, not starting a debate.

@glennat
Please refrain from posting these kinds of sentiments even if you do possess them.

Now look, I never said muslims were terrorist, here is my post

“If I don’t get into brown I’ma go double or triple muslim”

Now here is what griffinmyers said in his post
“…equate the Muslim religion with terrorism…”

Well it is clear griffin that despite being a point heady liberal hypocrit you still have anti muslim and islamicophobe values. I look forward to a day where all people of all religions can join hands in america and eat a slice of american apple pie, but as long as there are people like you who “equate the Muslim religion with terrorism” end quote that won’t happen.

lets leave all this behind us and concentrate on the main objective-getting into Brown!

Good Luck Everyone!

So we shall be hearing back on May 12th? Are the decisions online or will they only be mailed?

I’m nervous. Good luck everyone!!!

Where did May 12th come from?

This is a little off topic and a bit late to be asking, but, does anyone know how much mid-term grades help if you send them?

At this point I’m guessing it won’t help that much. It’s about a week from releasing the results, they should be finalizing their decisions right about now…I guess. So what’s done is done. We just have to accept as it is.

Darn, I’m so negative! Sorry about that. :P

I guess I didn’t really say that right. I meant that I sent my grades in with the application and was wondering how much of an effect they will have on my app.

does anyone know when the Brown applicants got it last fall 2009?

I hope everyone reports back here when they get their results, at least we can have some clue of roughly how many people get in and how many get reject as a %, results come out tomorrow, good luck to all
