you will go to Penn Paperrev. You will go to Penn.

If anyone gets in business let me know.

My essay was pretty impressive, I only applied to 2 schools and spent all my time on them. I could have used more time, but I don’t think it was to the point where my essay hurt me. I dunno, I just wish they gave more clear criteria for why I got rejected so I didn’t have to guess.

@xcellion, odds are it is a letter0rejection, I’m not really optomistic since hearing how its thin and all.

By business, glennat, you mean COE?

I still haven’t got the letter, and I live in the west coast, is that normal, should I call them to find out?

I’m trying to decide where to go, columbia or brown!!!

Transferring from: Swarthmore College
Accepted: Columbia, Brown, Penn, Wesleyan
Possible majors: History, Sociology

Brown Pros: I love the campus, I want a “hippie” and liberal school
Brown Cons: I want to get into a good grad school, not academic enough

Columbia Pros: Great reputation, known for being super intellectual
Columbia Cons: I want a college town (I live in ny also), too many preppies?

I only have a week to decide so please let me know your opinions!!! I want to know if my stereotyping is totally off and which school has better departments for my majors.

** I actually don’t care if there’s a core or not. I’m more concerned about the departments and the types of people at the schools
lilygee is online now

lilygee,

Brown is a top feeder into the best grad programs and its name will get you far. If you are concerned about grad school placement, then you shouldn’t. That being said, I do get the feeling Brown is the better fit.

Good luck!

thank you so much, solace. I think being from a crazy westchester county in new york school has made me a little crazy about the ivies. I think brown will be a better fit. Do you know anything about the undergraduate majors I’m interested in?

akunnamatta, ya sure, aything econimic related i gues

I got into Brown’s COE program. What do you want to know about it? Or do you have questions with regard to your application?

i don’t even know what coe means, spell it out in full

^ [Let me google that for you](http://lmgtfy.com/?q=brown+coe). (<– Btw, I’m not trying to be a passive agressive ass with that site; I just think it’s really cool and funny .)

^ Haha, funny.

Yes, it’s the “Commerce, Organizations and Entrepreneurship” concentration at Brown, comparable to a business major, but more so interdisciplinary and less rigid.

So in this thread are there only two of us on the waitlist? Seems promising? haha. A boy can dream.

Add one more to the number of people on the waitlist lol. I’ve been reading this thread for a while, but never posted. Just a heads up, an admissions officer told me they would know if anyone is getting off the waitlist by June 1st.

Hey I’ve also been following this thread for a while. I’ve been waitlisted too. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

I’m interested to know if anyone actually gets off the transfer waitlist. I was looking through past threads and I really couldn’t find anything out about it

in case anyone is curious, there are around 65 people on the waitlist. i got that number from a transfer counselor when i called the other day, but sadly i was not one of them. good luck to you all and i hope the spots go to the people who really want them :).

okm1ijn: Just curious why you were speaking with Brown since you got your decision a while back ?

CONGRATS to all who got in. I’m thinking of applying for Fall 2011 (soon, I know)!

Eek! 65 is a pretty big number since they hardly take any transfers to begin with. Well, I definitely won’t get my hopes up for getting in.
