Were these sent our recently? I have yet to hear from Brown at all! The website says that my decision is not yet available.

@arcade: i will not be attending so hopefully my spot will go to you xD
@cajun: i don’t think there is a single date for all decisions, you will proably hear in the coming week.

@cajunking: the decision was mailed to your home address on Wed, May 12; it won’t be posted online.

really hope the FedEx guy could find my apartment today…I can’t wait anymore! rawrr.

Ah, okay. Thanks for the speedy answers!

ACCEPTED FOR FALL SEMESTER!!! :D

Now I’m conflicted between my two decisions, Penn or Brown… :S

i was accepted for “literatures and cultures in english,” which at my school is just called “literature,” and at most schools is just called “english.” so take your pick.

also, to wait-listers, have hope! i, like melonbread91, am not taking my spot either.

My parents in Florida (I’m in NYC for the summer) just got my letter of admission for the spring semester! I’m really excited about Brown and the semester off–already planning some hostel-hopping through South America. Also, I applied to Brown out of hs and was pretty discouraged by a lot of posters on here saying that it’s very unlikely to be accepted if you’ve already tried–apparently not the case!

rejected.

10 char.

accepted for fall, but i’ma go to Penn anyways.

best of luck to y’all!

how much of a factor do you guys think financial aid was? I’m 100% dependent (EFC is 0), but my GPA/tests are near perfect, and I’ve been told my essays and recs were impressive

Do you think Brown ruled out any applicants that couldn’t pay anything?

hey papperev + victim of apathy what program did you apply to?

Is there a facebook group for Fall transfers?

guesswho: I was also fully needy (EFC of 0). I got waitlisted though. I imagine that financial need was a large factor.

hey glennnat, i’m just a regular transfer into the english department.

Does anyone want to take the initiative and start a facebook group for next year’s transfers? I would, except I haven’t exactly broken the news to my friends at school, and starting a Transfer group would probably be an inappropriate way of letting them know… :(

Well it ain’t going to be me, I want to keep my transfer hush hush, on another note my package/letter has just arrived and I suspect i did not get in, news is it is very thin which in my experience =1 page rejection letter. Does anyone want to confirm this for me? Anyways I asked my folks to send me the letter (i in europe they back there). O well I guess i’m applying to cornell next semester and if I don’t get in then I’ll just take my shots like a man and finish my worthless degree. Hopefully I get into the mba or law program which is better than 4% admissions. Man I feel like this is such bull crap, my awesome gpa + great extra curriculars, maybe they just were not taking transfer for business or something, I don’t really get how I didn’t get in.

I’m pretty sure the essays are the “make-or-break” factors in the application. Anyone can have superb extracurriculars and a stellar GPA, but the essay(s) demonstrates his/her true voice and style.

Simply my two cents.

The acceptance letter for me was a 8.5x11 size envelope with not much in it. If its a regular small envelope, then chances are that its a rejection.

@glennnat: I got accepted into the theater arts program

But I’m seriously not sure whether I’ll go to Brown or to Penn… So… all waitlist people, keep hope!!! :)
