Brown notifications - When?

Waitlist, OMG! well, it's better after being rejected from Yale. Did anybody else get wait listed?

my friend got waitlisted...

it is weird that they waitlisted so many people for so few spots- i have yet to receive my decision on the west coast

I think that's an achievement actually- given that they admitted so few people- u'd have probably gotten in last year-

Wow, 60/1200? I guess it has to do with the overenrollment of the freshman class.

Sorry to all you guys who didn't get in, and congrats to the few who did.

i got waitlisted as well.

anyone, are you guys staying on the waiting list or not?? what are our chances??

my friend got into brown transfer, but i dont think he will be attending... so another spot for the waitlisted :D

that's so obnoxious... i really wish it was binding to ensure that only people who wanted to go applied.

ya but if it was binding then people wouldnt be able to apply to many universities for transfer... lol

waitlisted here too. they waitlisted me last year too, complete hell to have to wait. the letter was sent to my house, and my mom read it to me. i was waitlisted last year by 5 schools and i'll say that this waitlist letter is such a nicer one than any from last year (one of which was from brown). anyway, good luck to all!

waitlisted............

can i just ask why would they waitlist 50 people for 60 spots?

I have to say that their rejection letter is one of the nicest I have ever read..."We know that the fact that you were not offered admission is as much a loss to Brown as it is a gain to another University" At least they let you down easy.

anyone from the west coast hear back yet?

rejected... maybe grad school? :(

congratulations to all who got in. good luck to all who haven't heard!

yes I recieved the official letter today I live in CA

rejected as well.

would have been nice...

this is pretty different from last year, when like scores of ppl got admitted, its very frustrating, ppl on this board ( i know a few) who got rejected, got waitlisted at places like Yale.....

i am confused
i got waitlisted at columbia (arguably just as hard to get into or harder), and rejected here, makes no sense

just a really competitive year guys. The admissions guy told me so, and my best friends dad who is on the board of trustees there reiterated it to me as well. one of their most competitive to date, and apparently it was much more competitive than for freshman applicants.

got my mail today- waitlisted. It kills to know that a waitlist this year would have most likely meant an acceptance in any year past. I am now down to only Penn.

I know they have 60 spots available, but I wonder how many they accepted? Perhaps if it wasn't too many over 60, they will go to the waiting list this year- it said they took 5 last year and that was after accepting way more kids.

i still haven't received mine! for the people who got their decisions today, was it to your school address or permanent address?
