Hi guys,
I’m not sure if this question was already asked, but ill give it a go.
If I was in Brown’s PLME program can I apply out to another Med. school or am I bound to go to theirs. Also, if I was to apply out, would I need to take the MCAT in order to go to other med. schools?

At the moment I am only a sophomore in high school, but I am trying to look at potential colleges I want to go to. I’ve heard that brown’s PLME is great. Also, what is the difference between HPME and PLME?

Thanks for the help.

To my knowledge (and I may be wrong about this), almost all PLME students attend Brown’s medical school, Alpert, after doing their normal undergrad years. If you wanted to go out, your place in the medical school would not be saved. You would have to follow other medical schools’ process of admissions in order to get accepted. Brown PLME doesn’t give you automatic entrance into any medical school, except for Alpert.

Some say PLME is better, some say HPME is better. From what I’ve heard, Northwestern’s Feinberg has a better ranking than Brown’s Alpert, but PLME would give you more freedom and provide a liberal arts education.

Hi PandaScholar,
