Socart, where are you that you received the package?

Im wondering what the connection between entering as a sophomore/jr and being admitted for fall vs spring.

Just recovering from crying like a baby because I finally got the acceptance package in the mail today. I’m in New Jersey, and I got it this afternoon. I was indeed accepted for Spring 2013. I’m not really sure if I would appeal for them to reconsider me for Fall 2012… They’re offering that option, but honestly I’m grateful enough for acceptance period, I might just do something like study abroad too. Best of luck to everyone still waiting for results.

P.S. The mail is First-Class USPS.

Seems like quite a few of us were accepted for the spring. What’s everyone’s plan for the autumn? Perhaps we should form some sort of group to get to know each other when January 2013 rolls around.

Oh, and I wish the best to everyone still waiting for their decisions!

Waitlisted. Applied for FA and to neuroscience, which is a highly competitive major to get into at brown. Did not check the spring 2013 box so that wasn’t an option.

I have not received my decision yet, but the “Spring 2013” button also appeared on my application menu. Did this happen for others who were rejected/waitlisted? or those who were accepted to the Spring?

I haven’t received my decision yet (live in the midwest), but an option for “Spring 2013” was added today on my applicant portal. Does this hold significance, or could I still be rejected?

nolcal// sorry for a late reply. I was supposed to get a callback yesterday, but didn’t get any. I explained this to a lady whom I talked with, and it seemed like she was convinced…good luck with your decision anyway.

so everyone who has been accpeted, has your portal changed at all? Can everyone who applied for financial aid and was accepted see it? I honestly don’t know why I’m wondering any longer. So bummed out…

Hey guys I got waitlisted! It’s a bummer, but I’m going to Dartmouth instead so I guess that’s something to be happy about. (They gave me more money than NYU too)

Good luck to you all!

Midwest applicant here. No mail yet. Too nervous to call.

Does everyone else have a Spring 2013 application that shows up in the Application Portal? Date Created says May 09, 2012.

@anontransfer yeah, I had that appear as well. I’m not sure if everyone who checked that box on the common app site has that option, or if it’s solely for spring admits. If someone who has this info could help, I’d really appreciate it

I don’t have it and I got in for fall.

Based on looking at this thread and my own experience, if a tab appears that says Spring 2013, that means you are admitted for spring 2013. I am from New Jersey.

Yeah, we should create a thread for spring admits who are deciding what to do. It seems like the study abroad option might be specifically geared towards mid-year transfers (I think it said that on top of the sheet I got), so that might be a good way to get to know people before coming. The other two options are staying at your current school for the fall semester, which I am considering, or getting a job/internship.

I’m considering appealing for fall admittance, but it seems like a very unlikely option. You need to have a really good reason, and I don’t really, other than not really wanting to study abroad.

Yeah, I have a spring 2013 application from this morning and I got in for spring’13!!!
They want me to send my final transcript by July and January twice. Does any of you guys knows about minimum grade or something like that? I mean what if I get lower grade than last semester? Does Brown see badly if we get lower than B?

so, nobody has answered my question as to whether or not they show financial aid yet? Has anything changed at all on your student self service page? I know someone said they saw a FA. Anyone else? just looking for a ray of hope where there is none…

@norcaltransfer77

Mine still looks exactly the same and I got admitted via phone yesterday. There is still a ray of hope!! I’m wondering if they are updating the people who live on the east coast first because they will be receiving decisions first… Idk, but in any case, mine has not changed yet.

Thanks CStransfer. I just want my rejection from 2 other schools and I can SIR at UCLA and refocus on my finals. My current college still has 2 weeks of class left.

@norcaltransfer - dude i understand that the process is stressful but can you stop posting all this self-deprecating stuff? I’m tired of reading about it.

sure my bad…
