Do any of you know if there’s a preference for regular decision waitlistees over transfers?

I think freshman and transfer wait lists are separate. It seems like freshmen are expecting their decisions soon whereas I do not think that’s the case for transfers. They have a certain number of spots for the freshman class and certain for transfers. I’m ust guessing though. Have any waitlisters received anything in the mail from Brown? I haven’t… And things were supposedly sent Monday, and I want to make sure I have a spot on the waitlist!

@dreamer Congratulations! When did you receive the package? And, where in the States you are at?

Nlm2993 I’m on the waitlist and I received it Friday in the mail. I spoke with an admissions officer that day as well and he said that waitlisters should hear around the end of the month.

@ dreamer I can feel your feelings. Great relief.

Dino, are we allowed to submit additional materials before decisions are made? I haven’t gotten the letter yet, but I spoke with an admissions officer last Tuesday.

I’m not sure. I wouldn’t think so though because that might make things unfair for other applicants

anyone know how many transfers were accepted/waitlisted?

Accepted for Spring 2013.

Public High School
High School GPA: 4.1 out of 4.4
Lots of Theater

College GPA: 4.0 from top LAC
ACT: 33
Major: English/Creative Writing
Strong recommendations and LOTS of ECs
No legacy

Let’s get a group going on the 'book?

am i the only who hasnt heard anything from brown?

@Coquetm No, I haven’t heard anything either. Are there any changes in your portal? I have none.

I got waitlisted… don’t really know what to expect… did all the Waitlisters send back the card saying that you will remain active on the waiting list??

Nope, dude. I’m with you.

Wonder what the chances are for those who were waitlisted… :/

^ I’m with you on that one. To be honest, I’m extremely skeptical. Especially since I’m fairly sure they pull RD waitlist first.

I would be willing to venture that freshman and transfer applicant waitlists are entirely separate things. Freshman and transfers are vying for completely different spot openings in different class levels, seems like these lists have to be separate.

*Note, this is not me being optimistic :(

I was accepted for Spring 2013, and I’ve known all along that we would have to send in our final transcript, but my 2nd semester grades still took a huge dive. I’m at NYU, I had a 3.7 first semester, and this semester my GPA will be more around a 3.2. Does anyone know what Brown’s policy is about that? Do they actually revoke acceptances?

Hi katcas

Does Brown post admission decision online as well? Or Brown just sends out post mails.

Thanks

I still have not heard back from Brown yet… Am I the only one? I live in CA…

^ no, I haven’t heard anything back yet either. I’m guessing this isn’t good…
