Did anyone else’s chart on their Brown portal (where it has the components of your application that says “received” or “requirement fulfilled”) completely disappear? Kind of freaking out right now.
@hopelessopus12 wowowow we are definitely a rare breed hahaha. Also, I totally understand the whole “what is a viola don’t you mean violin” situation. Have experienced that many times… even google docs auto-corrected viola to violin… feels bad. In my school district, students in elementary school are offered to play a string instrument starting in 4th grade and a wind/brass/percussion instrument in 5th grade. I’ve stuck with viola since then
How’s your school chamber orchestra and do you know anyone that went to all-state this past week? I’m always curious what other orchestras are playing because although I’m in my school’s symphony, we still play string orchestra repertory and it grinds my nerves… and because of that I resort to playing my local youth symphony and we are playing some bomb music!! Tchaikovsky 4th man!!!
@ap012199 btw Stravinsky wrote a Requiem with vibraphone and it’s pretty cool. The prelude made me laugh because it’s so bizarre

@jejiang I think it’s great that you expanded your talent to your local youth symphony! I think that my school’s chamber orchestra is pretty average to be honest. Our first chair violinist made it into all state and second chair was selected as an alternate. I’m pretty sure one of our bass players made it in too. What about your orchestra?
@ap012199 I am in the right place… There was a chart though right? With the application materials, date received, and status? It’s past midnight where I live, which is when I start to doubt everything.
@hopelessopus12 For my school orchestras (we actually have three different orchestras - Chamber, a Baroque ensemble, and a symphony), we sent like around 7 or 8 (more or less). It’s honestly really exhausting but playing in concert is the best part about all-state.
and my chart is gone to. I just have the decision box and the supplement upload box.
@hopelessopus12 yeah, you’re right. My suspicion is that the chart is gone since December 1st is over (which was the last day to receive materials, I believe).

I’m hoping Northeastern results will come out before Brown’s so I’ll have a little consolation when I get deferred/rejected (that is if I even get into Northeastern lol).
Everyone let’s relax and ignore Brown until the decisions are out. Use this time to chill or work on other apps. Try not to obsess (I know it’s hard, but let’s try). Ideally you’ll all wake up one day and realize “Oh… Brown decisions are out today… cool.” and not “BROWN DECISIONS COME OUT IN 9 DAYS 5 HOURS 12 MINUTES AND 36 SECONDS FROM RIGHT NOW!!!”
I was doing some research (and casual day dreaming of being a student) through the Brown Course Catalog online and my browser auto signed me in and there was a little popup saying that I hadn’t satisfied the prereq’s for the class I was looking at, etc. Does this mean anything or is it a glitch or does everyone get this??
