****Brown University Class of 2021 Regular Decision Thread****

Hey guys so on my brown portal it says that the noncustodial parent profile and waiver are satisfied. The noncustodial profile was just satisfied on March 23rd and apparently these are difficult to get accepted. Does anyone think this could mean something for my application?

@iwantogotothere Nope.

@nicoleg17217 Can you outline exactly how you found that?

@iwanttogotothere Hmmm… I don’t think that means anything at all. By it saying “satisfied” I believe it means they’ve just obtained it. I’m fairly certain you’re required to submit an NCPP if your parents are separated.

Does anybody’s course @ brown site have the “courses in my concentration” tab? It keeps disappearing and repapering for me. :-?

@kalons In late January I sent in all documents associated with a parent waiver like the third party letter, personal letter and so on that support how my noncustodial hasn’t been in my life and will not contribute to my college education. It used to say “pending” and was just changed to satisfied.

It said either pending review or under review, it’s different for each school.

Guys, when uploading a financial document, do you all get the option to upload an “appeal” document? Does anybody know what kind of document this is? Can it mean anything perhaps?

@iwanttogotothere Oh dear, well, then I’m actually not sure! I just know that I had to submit my NCPP because my parents are divorced (both will contribute), and the tab(s) have said “satisfied” for as long as I can remember.

@kalons oh ok!! Thank you for the insight :slight_smile:

@ljluzjvert I have that too

@ljluzjvert This most likely means appealing the financial aid a student is given. This mostly happens when a student is in need of more financial aid that the institute did not provide and asks for more, thus calling it an appeal.

I have the appeal option too

@vadum360 Actually now I’m not sure that’s really weird. What state do you live in? Maybe it was just an error?

@89october where is the appeal option located?

I highly doubt the time specified has any correlation to your decision though!! I think it is most likely just a precaution taken to ensure that the site doesn’t crash. I wouldn’t read into it too much.

@nicoleg17217 where did you see the placement test link? On what part of the portal?

Last year they were all up at 5pm ET anyway. There were never any “hints” deduced by the staggered times, only a sense that they were attempting to protect the servers. Let’s face it, all of you will be refreshing that portal early anyway, lol.

@stressedsenior99 On the bottom link of the financial aid tab

@ricka8 We are all international
