Brown University RUE Students

I just want to say that to be a participant of Brown University academia and alumni will be a monumental benefit. So I want to say good luck to everyone. I have applied and patiently waiting their decision to accept me.
I look forward to furthering my education in my chosen field of study. I also look forward to enhancing the experience other Brown students face by me being a part of the Brown University experience.
I hope to see some of you there!

Good Luck

For everyone that applied as an RUE applicant, what major(s) at Brown are you looking to study? For me, it is International Relations and Chinese.

wow, the forum sure got quiet!

I want to study English at Brown.

Does anyone know how we will be notified regarding decisions? Letter or maybe email?

Hey, I’m an applicant as well. I was looking at their cognitive neuroscience focus. I haven’t heard or received anything yet. I know there is some kind of applicant portal for traditional applicants, but I’m assuming not for RUE since I have not even received something verifying that they got my application… Did anyone else?

Only that they cashed my check. I would expect that anyone that was a finalist would be interviewed. In past threads–those detailing rue in past years–interviews had been conducted by now. Specifically, between 19th and 21st of April. However, the application deadline may have been mid-february during those years; therefore, that timeline might not be applicable.

Regardless, each passing day without a phone call seems to be adding up to a referendum on my application. Of course, the argument has been made that the interview doesn’t equal acceptance(and previous threads prove this). But, for a moment, assume Brown admission’s POV. Were you planning to accept an applicant into your highly competitive, financial aid eligible adult learning program, wouldn’t a phone call be in order?
I hope I’m wrong;) Best of luck

Has anyone here received an interview?

I read numerous articles and threads on the program, and apparently they do not phone interview all of the possibly accepted applicants.

Well that’s good to hear. Sounds like none of us have had interviews so far. Maybe they just haven’t gotten to them yet?

Best of luck to everyone that applied!

Another week or so to wait?

Well, someone just got a rejection from RUE yesterday, though it is not in this thread.

Wow, I really thought I had a shot at RUE. Rejected

My elderly mother gets into a car accident (shes okay thankfully) three hours after I receive my rejection letter.

No correlation, just a rough day!

@xthaiboxer I’m sorry about your mother, and your letter. I found some info on your stats and story in one of your previous posts, and I’m surprised you weren’t accepted as well. Where do you live? I haven’t received anything yet and I’m wondering if its just because I’m down in Texas. Did you hear anything from any other schools you’ve applied to? I was rejected from University of Rochester (which I wasn’t worried about anyway) and Lehigh University (which I was really hopeful on) and that’s it. I’m just waiting on Brown RUE and Amherst College.

I also was rejected to RUE. Is anyone else here going to apply next year?

@thelxinoe,
thanks for the kind words!

I live in Long Beach Ca. and only applied to Brown for Fall admission. I will go back to to my CC this fall and apply to a few schools for Spring and then Fall 13’ admission.

Good luck to thelxinoe and everyone else waiting for their results! I want to hear some happy stories

I haven’t seen a single post about an acceptance yet. Maybe I’ll be the lucky one? I doubt it; I’m feeling pretty discouraged due to the rejections I’ve received so far. I’m also a student with a lot of financial need. =/ California is definitely a longer way for a letter to travel than Texas, but I just checked and still no mail today.

@xthaiboxer–My plan is about the same if I don’t get into on of these two schools, except I won’t be in Texas next year. I’ll probably go to a CC with articulation agreements to a University, possibly something like Pitt.
