I want to study International Relations, and I haven't decided if I want to attend Brown or Georgetown (SFS). Some people tell me Brown is better as a whole, but Georgetown is better than Brown when it comes to IR. I would love some advice, opinions, experiences that could help me make a decision.

Generally I am not a huge Georgetown fan, but I think it is hard to argue with the internship possibilities in DC in IR and the possibilities of getting internships during the school year, rather than just summer. That’s a great advantage to you and your future prospects. Brown, however, does have a better reputation overall in my opinion, just not in this particular field.

Both are excellent schools. For International ________, Georgetown SFS is one of the tops in the nation ( for undergraduate: along with Harvard and Yale), and perhaps number one in the world for graduate school.

But if you are a Ivy fan, go for Brown!

Brown is no slouch in the IR department either, with the Watson Institute, and there are plenty of IR opportunities with NGOs in Boston and NYC. You don’t have to be in DC.

What are some of the unique opportunities the Watson Institute can offer?
