Brown Waitlist 2018

<p>Hey all,</p>

<p>So today my counselor spoke to me. Apparently Brown called her to ask her about my level of interest in Brown, ie would I go to Brown if they accepted me off the waitlist. I told my counselor that I would certainly attend and she subsequently relayed this information onto the admissions office at Brown. She emailed me later today after talking with Brown and said someone from Brown would contact me next week.</p>

<p>I really have my hopes up… This, or anything similar, happen to anyone else? Any thoughts or comments about what has just transpired? </p>

<p>They say they will be admitting a small number through May. They also say they do not rank the waitlist, so if any are going to be taken from the list, they will revisit the entire waitlist which they expected to be 400 - 500. Best wishes, waitlist peeps</p>

<p>@Carbajalia‌ Interesting. The exact same thing happened to me. It seems like a good sign. I will view the glass as 50.1% full. </p>

<p>@Carbajalia‌ and @AntiEntropy‌ just wondering - did you guys perviously write a letter to Brown saying you’d accept an offer on the waitlist if accepted? If not, maybe they’re just checking in to see if you’ve already chosen to pursue other plans?</p>

<p>Yeah so after I got waitlisted I sent them an update of activities and in that email I told them I would attend if accepted off the waitlist. But then again, that’s what everyone is going to say. They are just covering their bases by checking with counselors, probably. </p>

<p>Based on the article referred to in my earlier email it looks like Brown will admit between 20- 50 from the wait list because of “summer melt”</p>
