Bruin DIRECT & USHIP

HMOs usually do not have a lifetime max.

Each kasier insurance plance varies based on who you obtain the coverage from.

I have kaiser and my lifetime max is unlimited and out of pocket is 2500

so all i need to do is waive the student insurance thing if i have kaiser insurance at the moment?

what do i do about bruin direct?

waive insurance: yes.

bruin direct: sign up.

er, where do i sign up for bruindirect again? is it on the myucla webpage because i lost the packet they sent me...

It's done by mail.

http://www.sfs.finance.ucla.edu/Pdf/bruindirectform.pdf for the form that was sent.

I live within 25 miles of UCLA (as well as my doctor's office) but will be living off-campus next year. Do I still have to waive USHIP? I've been trying to log on and waive but the screen is cut off at the bottom so I can't see what the text is. Is anyone else having this problem?

Well, you don't HAVE to waive SHIP but, if you already have health insurance you probably should to save a little money.

It's pointless to pay for ship if you already have insurance that qualifies. Take advantage of it.

is bruin direct the form with just a line at the bottom for you to sign and attach a void check?

how do you find out if "your plan is with a recognized USA Insurance Company that is owned, operated, and headquarted in the USA, and is not a travel insurance policy?" besides calling, that is. can you find it anywhere online or maybe the Ashe Center site? can someone help me out?

What's your insurance company?

bfired2 it's
Alameda Alliance for Health

i checked the locations and it's only in norcal....
so i'm doubting that it's waive-able? since they ask for a with-in-25mile location
i don't know but maybe you can tell me how to check?

Hey so for Facility within 25 miles of UCLA where your plan will provide full care do I put UCLA medical center?

uh..only if its covered by your insurance company

ckings86, do you know why there's such a large difference between the amount you pay for USHIP Basic and USHIP Plus (I had USHIP Plus last year)? USHIP basic is around 558 dollars and PLUS is only 102 a year and it covers dental?

emun, would check w/ UCLA Health for a definite answer.

Never mind, I figured it out. =]
