@green
My S also applied through common app. to union and 3 days after submission he got an email with applicant portal information.

Union College AMC sends out a supplement with a one week deadline and it comes from AMC.

People I know missed out the letter last year because it went to spam and only heard about it after they received a letter saying they were withdrawn from consideration for not filing a supplement. The note cancelling their app came out on 27th or 28th of Dec.

If some received a letter and some did not, I suggest people check the spam on a regular basis. The email comes from combineddegreeprograms.

Wow, just found out online that not only is the interview for UMKC MMI with ten stations and assessing the candidate’s responses to different situations, the candidate also has the take a chemistry test and the interview goes from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Seems rather tedious to me.

okay! my union portal says I’m accepted to Union for undergrad and that my app is forwarded to AMC. It says the CSS Profile is due 12/1/13… uh I guess I didn’t do that. But I thought the CSS profile is optional generally at most schools? Did anyone submit it for union?

CSS profile is for financial aid but some schools also want to see one to provide merit money.

Are there others doing MMI for BS/MD?

Motorcycle Mechanics Institute ?? MMI??

@tropixx i think it stands for multiple mini interviews. Like the UMKC “interview” consists of 10 stations with different mini assessments as IMGDAD stated earlier.

@texaspg, I applied for the UMKC bs/md program, but i will be notified in mid-january since i applied for the nov. 1st deadline. I don’t think Drexel, GW, or AMC do MMI format. It’s just one interview (w/ an on the spot essay for drexel).

also, does Union specifically require the CSS profile for merit aid? Or anything in general?

CSS profile is only needed in order to provide money or determine how much you can afford to pay.

So Union can choose to use it any which way they choose. Only they can tell you if it impacts your merit aid.

This is the first time I have heard of CSS. My son has never been asked to submit the form. Here is what is on my son’s application portal, comments?

They are looking for the CSS if you check applying for financial aid on your application at most colleges.

Virtually ALL of the Union candidates have been accepted to Union AND passed onto AMC. If he is not yet accepted to Union, it either indicates that he will NOT or, that his APP is not yet complete for some reason(?) which precludes his acceptance until it is complete. Probably prudent to inquire directly!

@texaspg and tropixx, thank you. His application portal clearly said that his application to LIM is not complete and the only outstanding item is the midyear school report, yet everyone else seems to have gotten their decision without submitting the midyear school reports.

IMGDAD - are you saying the application is being listed as incomplete but only thing missing is midyear report?

You should call them.

@texaspg, yes, the only incomplete item listed is the midyear report, although we have just got the school to send it in two days ago. I will ask Patrick to call on Monday.

My daughter did MMI at NEOMED. Don’t stress out about it. I watched all the kids leave for the MMI tense and they came back relaxed. My dd said they weren’t bad at all.

My daughter got her acceptance letter to NEOMED today. She hasn’t gotten home to open it yet but she was expecting it today or Monday. I know it is an acceptance letter because it says so on the outside of the envelope. She also got three pieces of mail from Youngstown State so I’m pretty sure that will be her undergrad. Her first choice was Youngstown. She interviewed at all three consortium schools.

@Heiditree, congrats to your daughter. She is probably one of the first ones on CC to have gotten a med school acceptance! Way to go!

Got the GAP Supplement today. I was starting to feel they forgot about me.

Oh and I should clarify the letter did not have acceptance on the outside. I mistakenly thought it was from NEOMED but it was an acceptance letter to another university. But inside one of the YOungstown letters was her acceptance into the program. So glad I didn’t have to come back and make a retraction. She is a very happy girl.

@Heiditree - congrats to you and your daughter! Are you OOS or in-state?
