lolz99, would you be willing to share the reason(s) you did not go with a combined program?

Yes - that would be interesting to know whay @lolz went to MIT instead of BS/MD program. My S may have to make a similar decision, come May.

I wasn’t 100% sure about medicine and felt that I still needed time to decide what I want to do.

I wanted a broader education not only in medical-related fields but also in other subjects such as economics, management, and some sort of engineering.

I just wanted more opportunities to explore different areas.

Right now, what I want to do is work with nanotechnology and cancer and/or its business aspect. Medical school is sort of a backup plan for me.

lolz99, thanks for sharing your reasons.

Hey DebraX, how did you get the invite for the BU interview already! My application does not even show that any decision has been made.
Did you apply EA?

@DxSnake: I don’t know if I’m replying too late to be helpful. This is probably my first time checking this site in a year, which is a nice feeling by the way. The interview was fairly laid back. There was a group interview and a one on one interview. My one on one interview mainly involved giving me information on the program and talking about the Albany area in general. The group interview involved the interviewees coming up with a presentation on college admissions that we would theoretically show underclassmen. There were questions about our hobbies and about our views on the philosophy of academic science and research. Just be informed about the program going in and be prepared for the usual questions about your hobbies, extracurriculars, and desire to go into medicine and you’ll be fine. And don’t be like one of those other interviewees with me that day who mentioned not really being interested in research despite applying to the RPI program. Her interviewer really grilled her for that.

I applied for the Siena AMC program and have my interview coming up soon. Any advice for the interview? Does any one remember some of the questions they were asked during previous interviews?

NEOMED - How many OOS students called for interview and what % get selected?

We are think of canceling the interview if they talk only 2-3 OSS student.

KLM - It is best to call the program coordinators and ask the question directly to get the most accurate info. You don’t want to make major decisions based on information from an anonymous forum.

klm123 - dont cancel the interview. you never know where the kids end up finally.

Thank you @texaspg, @fallpsat. The support system on this thread is great. I will give them a call.

Can you chance me for U Miami HPM?
