Given the average unweighted GPA (3.8) and SAT (1452) of 2021 admits, I think you’re right on par. With your solid extracurriculars, I would say BU is a match. Furthermore, you might want to consider applying EA as each round of admission to BU seems to be significantly more competitive than the last. Bon chance!

@undergrad2018 BU does not have EA. They only have ED. Based on your post here and a post on another thread, I am not sure you understand the way the ED process works. On the other thread, BU was a considerable reach for the student from a stats perspective. Applying ED won’t give that student an edge, particularly coming off of the most recent class admitted. This student is, from a stats perspective because we know nothing else about their application, qualified to apply ED. The distinction between ED1 and ED2 is a student applying ED1 has to get their app in early and cannot apply to other schools (generally, I’m not accounting for any variation on this that BU may have). The ED2 deadline is same as the RD deadline. Students can apply EA to other schools, get those decisions and if things did not work out as planned can still apply ED2. The percentage of students that were admitted ED2 was less than the percentage that applied ED1 but there are going to be various reasons for that. Any students interested in scholarships need to apply by Dec 1 even if they are applying RD so by the time they are looking at ED2 apps, BU had all ED2 and RD seeking scholarship apps. If a student is seeking a scholarship, they are going to have a strong application.

Stats wise you’re a solid match! You’re SAT score is incredible and your goal/ ECs are also really good. Just focus now on writing a killer essay that shows you would do well in BU and that you’re a good fit and you should be more than fine. I’m currently going to be a freshman at BU so if you have any questions feel free to message me and I’ll try to help as much as I can
