@RivenMain its not fun when you stress about it. 
My D who was admitted ED1 has no access to her portal so they must be updating for everyone. She can access the housing link, just can’t apply yet.
This may be weird, but why would the housing portal say “new student” just because you have been accepted. At other colleges, you get access to the portal once you commit and enroll.

@TomSrOfBoston Trying to decode how they have their entire admissions computer network set up and figuring out whats referencing what and what you can use as a loophole to try and figure out what the original decision was? Yeah…I’m a computer science major if you couldn’t tell :))
@botcom does your housing portal work? or does it say access denied?
If you are able to see the housing portal through the link that was posted here, it’s because you’re using a URL that was created for admitted students. It doesn’t necessarily mean YOU were admitted.
I do understand that waiting is hard, and for some of you sleuthing and speculating is a way to feel like you’re controlling the anxiety. If that works for you, great. But for many people, coming here to see this board filled with speculation prompts even more worrying. If that’s the case for you, please step away and find something constructive and positive to do to get you through until Saturday. Best wishes…
@EofA1120 but does that mean if you get access denied, you are denied admission? Does it work the other way around?
Portal works again
Um Guys… My update is gone 
my application status is no longer updating but it’s just back to the “thank you” statement
I personally wouldn’t draw any such conclusions. When any system gets updated, various gateways can become accessible and others inaccessible; backdoors get created and then are shut down. None of that necessarily has to do with your admission status, as tempting as it might be to make connections. As noted above, those of us with kids who were ED admits got locked out of our portals as well today, at least for a time. It’s just the way of system updates.
@EofA1120 Seems false to me tbh…it shouldn’t matter how the link is obtained since it’s still redirecting you to a login and a server check both of which can change where it sends you or whether or not it lets you in.
As for the portal being open again, it will stay like that until they release decisions on Saturday. Thats normal for nothing to have changed on the surface yet.
@acron611 up until yesterday all access was denied if my D tried to access it. TodayD has access.Just not able to submit an application yet.
@RiverMain so are you saying that I have not been admitted since I got access denied on the housing portal? I believe @EofA1120. I just cant see people being denied just from that.
I got in ED I and the update added the Dean’s Welcome, the apply for housing option now goes to the housing portal instead of the general housing website, and there’s a link to the university orientation page (dates are still not up though). Good luck to all of you! and don’t stress about all these ways to tell if you’re in or not. The only way you’ll know is Saturday morning when they email you.
I don’t understand why some people could access it and others could not during the same moments unless it had something to do with admitted or denied status. Please explain? @RivenMain @EofA1120
